Description for Ford Fairlane 1956
Blending the best of the classic style and a custom presentation, this 1956 Ford Fairlane is a true standout. And as you dig deeper to discover impressive details â€" from the original invoice to new A/C components â€" you'll a see a classic with everything you want. This Ford has been given a terrific restoration for those who like to hunt for the details. For example, the paint was re-finished close to a shade of the 1956-correct color...combo of Goldenglow Yellow and Colonial White. It makes for a great period-correct feeling with some added distinction. You see that all over this example with cool additions like the shining grille expertly integrated from a Plymouth front end, chrome wheels with wide whitewalls, and blue-dot taillights. And have you noticed how nearly all the trim has been shaven (even the door handles) for an added dose of slickness? But one piece of trim that will always remain is the dipping line that runs from the headlight to the tail. It provides a great dividing line for the two-tone, and it's a true hallmark of these Fords. The interior continues the classic feeling with cool upgrades. For example, the yellow and white two-tone theme is also found inside for a great custom look. But now the white seats have been refinished to have a tuck and roll inserts â€" exactly what you want on a '50s classic! Not only do these seats feel fresh, but also so do the door panels, carpeting, and headliner. This is a great place to spend some time, especially with some key upgrades. So while the original AM radio is still on display, the real tunes come from a more modern AM/FM unit hidden in the glovebox. They have even installed the full provisions for air conditioning. You'll slip behind the classic Ford steering wheel, and this gives you a great view of the classic gauge package as well as the large Moon tach added to the column. The 292 cubic-inch Ford Y-block V8 motor was an optional powerplant borrowed from the Thunderbird. It's nice to see this displacement still in this M-code car, and it even has extra power thanks to an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor. You can tell they made a nice investment in keeping this looking correct with the glossy black engine bay, bold red block, and correct Thunderbird Special valve covers. Out on the road, the optional Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission keeps everything running smooth as you enjoy the throaty sounds of the glasspack-style dual exhaust. It's these kinds of touches that keep the Fairlane one of the coolest ways aimlessly wander the boulevard on a Saturday night. This one comes with its original bill of sale out of California, which is another really cool touch to a cruiser that looks like it's a true '50s-style California custom. So if you miss out on something this unique, you may never find it again. Call today!!!
