Description for Ford Mustang 1967

Muscle Car Garage:We are a private collection of 50's, 60's, & 70's muscle cars. We also do topside restorations in our Jacksonville and Orlando area locations. From time to time we offer one of our collector vehicles up for sale. These are mainly topside restorations that can be driven to local car shows and cruise ins. Many of our vehicles are previous trophy winners. We are not dealers just car enthusiasts who have been collecting cars for years and performing very nice driver quality restorations for all to enjoy. We are not a concourse restorer and many of our cars are trailered to events but most vehicles can be driven if your choose to do so.

All Around Details:Up for auction is an unrestored 1967 Mustang "S" Code Fastback. This is a real "S" code and is a true time capsule. I have the Marti Report. Car was amateurly drag raced in the 70's and early 80's. Mustang was owned by a gentleman for 32 years and was purchased in San Diego as a California Black Plate Car. The car spent some time in New York with 2000 and 2001 inspection stickers currently present on the windshield. The car has been in Florida the last 15 years but in storage and only driven several weeks per year. This is really an untouched car for at least 30 years except for a new carb, electronic ignition, and some wheels & tires. This Fastback has all original body panels with very minimal rust on each door corner. Floor and truck pans are all solid. Quarters, Rockers, Fenders, Shock Towers, Cowl, and underside of doors are all solid with no rust. This car is all there and has most of its original parts because it is a rare "survivor" car. The original 390 is long gone. Currently the power plant which was installed in the early 80's is a '69 351W block with rare Boss 302 heads, intake manifold, and HiPo distributor (now converted to Pertronix). The Mustang has power steering and power brakes. Also rare in-dash factory working tachometer. The vintage Shelby roll bar was installed in the 70's and is still present as well as racing seat belts and traction bars. There is a gallon jug of anti-freeze in the trunk dated 1990. This car is truly an unmolested time capsule from the 70's.
Exterior Details:Car decodes as "Candy Apple Red". Was repainted in the 70's "Highland Green" and then repainted back red in 1988. Current paint on the car is 30 years old with the patina you would expect. All trim and chrome is original and all there except for the trunk letters which have been replaced. Car currently sports 16" American Racing Torque Thrust II wheels and very old tires. As stated all body panels are original and very straight and solid with the exception of minor bubbling at each front door corner.
Interior Details:As far as I can tell the interior is as it was back in the early 80's. Dash pad is a bit warped but no cracking. Door panels, seat upholstery and headliner are all in excellent condition with no tears, rips, or stitching loosening. Carpet is worn in areas. Shelby roll bar was installed in the 70's and is still present with a fire extinguisher that expired in the 80's. Fold down rear seat works as it should. Factory shifter is gone and replaced with a Hurst Short Throw racing shifter that works as it should. Summit tach was added in the late 90's on the column but is not working however the rare factory tach in the dash does work. All gauges and backlighting work as they should and even fasten seat belt indicator light is still working as well as added under dash gauges for oil pressure and amps. Blinker indicators also work. Trunk is solid with spare tire and jack. All in all the interior is in great condition considering it has not been restored.
Mechanical & Engine Bay:Current power plant is very strong cammed 1969 351W with Boss 302 heads and rare Boss intake manifold. Also has 7 1/2 quart Cobra aluminum finned oil pan as well as finned aluminum Boss 302 valve covers. Has correct HiPo distributor but has been retrofitted with Pertronix. Has brand new carburetor. Headers into performance exhaust that exits at rear. Car starts up every time and runs like a bat outta hell. Factory Toploader 4-Speed with performance clutch shifts just as it should. Factory 9" Ford rear with what appears to be around a 3:25 gear. Vintage traction bars are still present and new air shocks have been installed.
In Summary:This is pretty much an undisturbed car from back in the 80"s. This is an incredible car and a very rare find on what was less than 3% of the Mustang production in 1967. So how many are still left today that are not rusted out and butchered? Don't let this one get away. You may never have a chance to own one like this again. Drive as is and enjoy or restore to a high level and car is worth six figures. This car runs, drives, steers, shifts, and brakes as it should. It is a true survivor car and a true "S" code Fastback. 67 & 68 Fastbacks are hard to find period, but a real S Code is even more desirable and more difficult to come by.I encourage any vehicle inspection prior to taking delivery.
