You are looking at one of the most desirable cars in the world, a 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback S Code 390 GT 4 Speed, Factory Raven Black with Black deluxe interior Ford Executive car. In the mustang world, this is one of the most desirable models made. Very nicely optioned, with the 390 GT engine, 4 speed, power steering, deluxe interior, power disc brakes, and the 9" ford rearend, just to name a few of the options.

The car came from the factory as a GT, which included the GT equipment group, such as the fog lights grille, flip-down GT gas cap, GT Wheels, stronger suspension, and other GT amenities.

This was a DSO 89 Ford Executive Car and a one owner car. YES, that's right, this car has only had one owner, and was in the same town in which the car was purchased from back in 1968. DSO 89 was the ford Transportation Services District Sales Office. This car was on the company lease plan and was owned directly by the Ford Motor Company and was sent to the IR building in Dearborn Michigan and was given to a Ford Executive. Hard to say who owned it but I'm sure it could probably be figured out. VERY RARE Car with a very important history. You Will NOT find another one like this.

The car has a clear title, and the car also has all of the original VIN tags including the original door tag, original buck tag on the radiator support, original dash VIN tag under the passenger side windshield, and the apron VIN stamp!

The car still has its original numbers matching 390 GT engine, and 4 speed toploader transmission.

According to the Marti report, the car left the factory as follows:

So I'll give a breakdown of the car:

Engine:

Numbers Matching 1968 390 GT 4V engine

Block Date 8C6

C8AE-H 14 Bolt GT heads

Ford 427 Sidewinder Aluminum Intake Factory Ford Part

Original 14 bolt GT Exhaust Manifolds

C8OF-9510-C Carb Correct

Distributor Missing

All Power Steering Equipment there

Original C8ZE Big Block Radiator

Air Cleaner is gone

Car is not currently running.

Transmission:

Original 4 Speed Toploader RUG-AD Close Ratio

Original Shifter with Reverse Lockout

Rearend:

Factory 9" Rearend with Tag and Correct Pinion Snubber

Interior:

This is a black Deluxe interior car from the factory. 63B on the door tag. The car still has its deluxe door panels, front seats with headrests which was an option, and the folddown rear seat with the rear interior trim panels. The woodgrain dash parts have been taken off the car, the console top plate was taken off.

The car does still have an 8k tach with the correct clock. The gauge cluster needs the correct back. Gauges are just setting in there.

What is interesting is that the original owner told me those front seats were in the car when he purchased it form ford. Indicating that the executive must have changed the seats to comfort weave. This was a headrest optioned car from the factory.

Body:

This is an original fastback. S Code 390 GT that left the factory finished in Raven Black paint code A. The body on the car needs completes restoration. It needs all the usual mustang repairs and then some including floor pans, exterior body panel work, frame rail work. Look at all of the pictures in the album. This is a project car that needs rust repair.
