You know we love trucks here at South Car Motorsports. Old trucks, new trucks, restored trucks, modified trucks... pretty much anything with TRUCK after it is ok in our book! Mini Trucks hold an EXTRA special place in our hearts because we all had them back in the day, and miss the fun we had building and cruising them. This insane custom Ford Ranger gives us all the feels for those days and then some when we see it, and it presents even better in person than in the 200 photos you'll see below! It is an absolute MAGNET at car shows and cruises nights, and one heck of a nice driving truck to boot! You may remember it from the cover story and feature article about it that ran in the April 2005 issue of Street Trucks magazine, or perhaps from the pages of Mini Truckin' around the same time. You also could have seen in while it travelled the show circuit with its full display and show stand set-up! If you were lucky, however, you got to see it in person at a cruise night or event here in SWFL, where you could hear the rumble of the V8 and see the sano build quality from every angle. This truck is a full-on show machine, and with just under 400 miles since a complete NUT AND BOLT RESTORATION AND REBUILD, and it still basically shows like a fresh build from every angle. It spent the first 13 years of its life in a trailer going to shows and events, or getting photographed, and only in the last few years was it actually driven around locally for any length of time. It has a clean and clear AutoCheck report and history, and has had only two owners since new.
The original builder spent an insane amount of money creating this truck, and enjoyed showing and sharing it at events around the country. The body on the truck is minty fresh, with no dents, no dings, and maybe TWO light blemishes to be found like a stone chip! It really does look better in person than in the photos, and it looks pretty spectacular in the photos!!! Keen eyes will see that a whole 2000 Ranger front clip was grafter to it, along with the rear roll pan, custom front valance, custom hood, filled and smoothed cowl panel, shaved door handles, smoothed sides, and so much more! Thousands of hours of fabrication and prep was done before an ounce of the House of Kolor custom blended finish was applied EVERYWHERE, then treated to layers of hand-sanded clear to bring you the incredible custom finish you see in the pics. It is shiny, slick, and wet looking all-around, and shows like it was just sprayed thanks to a decade of careful storage, cleaning, and indoor shows and events. Every nook and cranny is clean, and we have NOT formally detailed the truck since bringing it home! All we have done is wash it, wipe it off with detail spray, and hit the glass with some Windex! Just imagine how amazing it will look when you take the time to wax and polish all the jewel-like bits of it once you get it home!!!! All of the hardware on the truck is BRAND NEW in condition, and is either show polished, chrome plated, or powdercoated depending on what it is used for. Even the door hinge bolts are show quality!!!! Glass is perfect, as are all the seals and weather stripping all the way around. A custom made canvas ragtop is a throwback to the VW Beetle days, and it easily rolls back to open up, and let the sunshine in. It rolls on BonSpeed custom offset 20" wheels with Dunlop 9000 tires size 245/35ZR20 up front and 285/35ZR20 in the rear. The wheels are in excellent condition all around, and are a simple pro-polish away from being able to the hit the show stage again. Behind the wheels are the custom finished BAER Track series cross-drilled and slotted performance disc brake system. The stop even better than they look, and they look amazing. Inside of the bed is just as beautifully finished as the body, and it has a gorgeous show chromed air tank and compressor installed with braided stainless lines and chrome hardware! A raised bed floor box lets the C-Notch fit comfortably and has a plexi-glass viewing window so you can show off the beautifully finished and detailed components on the chassis. The frame itself is practically a work of art, and thousands of hours was spent in notching, boxing, de-tabbing, and smoothing it before the custom bag mounts were installed and all the rest of the chassis goodies put into place. All of the hardware is either chrome, polished, or powdercoated, and other than being dirty from sitting, it would wipe down to be show-ready with little effort. There are only a handful or so marks on the chassis from normal use, and it still shows like it was just done, as you can see in the photos. Chrome plated or show-polished bids are everywhere, from the custom balanced driveshaft to the third member, and all of it looks spectacular! Polished hydraulic pistons let the bed floor tilt back and forth as needed when at the shows, and it allows people a better view of all the detail work underneath the truck. You will also notice a limited amount of lines and hoses to be found, and that is because great care was taken to hide them as best as they could during the building process to keep it as sano as the body in presentation. All of the body mounts, trans mounts, motor mounts, bushings, etc., are in like-new condition. Underneath the custom hood, a Ford 5.0 was sourced from a 1994 Mustang COBRA, along with that cars automatic transmission and computer system. It was completely torn down to the block and rebuilt as a balanced and blueprinted motor that was bored .04 over with 10:1 compression, ported and polished heads, and whole giant helping of show-chromed and polished goodies! The engine bay looks AMAZING, and along with the custom trimmed firewall, battery box, and intake box presents as show-ready RIGHT NOW!!!! You can't even imagine how much chrome, polished aluminum, and mirror-like stainless resides under the hood until you see it in person, because photos don't do it justice! Much like the chassis, tons of attention and time was paid to make sure the lines and wiring under the hood presented as cleanly as possible. All of fluids have been checked, and nothing is leaking or weeping when the truck sits in place. It is dialed in and ready to roll. We have driven the truck about 40 miles since it was inspected and safety checked. It drives and handles remarkably well, and shows no odd tendencies. I had it up to a GPS verified 70 mph on the freeway with no handling or performance issues, and it cruised in city traffic on a hot Florida day for 45 minutes and never ran hot. A complete 1994 Mustang Cobra interior was customized and made to fit this Ranger, and it looks incredible! Dash is custom fit to the truck, and looks perfect! It has color-matched inserts for the gauges, as well as the center stack. Gauges are all Pro Comp Ultralite series, and the main pod holds WATER, TACH, SPEEDO, and FUEL, while the mini pod contains VOLTS and OIL. They all work as they should! Pro Comp also supplied the three Air Ride Monitoring gauges, one for tank pressure, one for front bags, and one for the rear. Custom dual pattern tweed covers the entire interior and looks beautiful, with no rips, tears, seam pulls or issues. Seats were from the Mustang, but have been cut down, lowered, and trimmed to fit the truck perfectly. Rear wall is fully trimmed as well, and has custom boxes for the POLK GXR Subwoofers, behind each seat. Polk and JB handle speaker duties up front, while a Kenwood KDC 4022 deck provides the audio source. The stereo sounds exceptionally clean, and all the electronics are hidden in a cubby behind a false panel in the dash for easy access. Ford power window switches were re purposedto operate the air ride, and the real power window switches are hidden within easy reach along with the main compressor switch to keep things tidy on the inside. Billet Specialties supplied the leather covered steering wheel, and billet wiper and headlight pulls with a billet rear view mirror round things out on the interior. It shows exceptionally, and is ready to enter any major event right now, without so much as a vacuum run through it. Air ride system functions perfectly, and the tank has an automatic shut-off that keeps it around 150psi so you can go up and down whenever you want to. The bags will leak down after 3-4 days of sitting, but they do no have any issue when driving and showing the truck. You could take this truck back out on the show circuit, where it hasn't been seen in years, and start collecting trophies again, or you could drive and cruise it, or a little of both. It will excel at any of it. I have taken 200 photos of the truck from every possible vantage point, but if you are a serious buyer and want anything additional, just let me know.
That's about all I can tell you, but I encourage questions and addition photo requests if it helps you make a decision. READ THE AD COMPLETELY. LOOK AT ALL OF THE EXTRA LARGE PHOTOS PROVIDED.
