Description for Ford Taurus 1990
Up for auction is an incredibly nice first-generation Taurus SHO. As some may remember, when the SHO arrived on the market in 1989, it was the fastest four door sedan in the U.S. These cars were very impressive for their day, but today you rarely see them for sale and often when you do, they are not well preserved. I think you would be hard pressed to find another car as nice or nicer than this one. This is one of the nicest Gen 1 SHO's in the country.
This car was originally purchased December 15th, 1989 in Wyoming by a noted car collector here in Colorado. He sparingly drove the car on nice weather days over the next 23 years where it accumulated about 59,000 miles which is about 2,500 miles a year. He kept the car in immaculate condition from day #1 in his climate-controlled warehouse. Since his passing it has stayed in Colorado where it has been owned by two other collectors who have maintained its beautiful condition and only putting another 3,000 miles on it. It now has 62,000 actual miles.
I have a collection of cars from every decade back to the 1940's, many of which are low mileage original cars. Unrestored, original cars are much nicer to drive and have an authentic feel over a restored car that has been taken apart and reassembled with aftermarket or reproduction parts. The interesting part about first Generation SHO's is that restoration parts are unavailable, thus making this an impossible car to replicate with a restoration. The only way to get a Gen 1 SHO like this, is to find a survivor.
The paint on this car is original with the exception of the front bumper cover being repainted. It has never been faded and brought back with buffing, it's been stored inside, kept polished/waxed since new. The paint is truly beautiful. I added the rare police grill to give the car an aggressive look, but the original is included. The headlights are factory originals with no haze. The rubber trim around the windows is still soft and has not oxidized to a rough or chalky look. The windows are perfect with no scratches or stone chips, the side and back glass has been tinted with 3-M legal tint. The original basket weave 15" wheels are in great condition and have newer tires on them, they are included with the car. Currently, the car has chromed 16" directional SHO slicers on it with new Michelin tires.
The interior in this Gen 1 SHO is beautiful.Absolutely no stains, scuffs, tears, or wear anywhere and it is all original. The leather seats are soft and supple and look as if their new. Just about every SHO I have ever seen has wear on the leather. The carpet, door panels, dash, headliner and steering wheel are all in perfect condition. Never eaten in, smoked in or had animals as passengers. The interior even smells new. The original radio works great but was replaced with a modern stereo with blue tooth. The original is included and can easily be reversed back to stock. The original floor mats are perfect and have always been covered with rubber ones to protect them. Inside the glove box is all of the original books with the owner's protection card and metal plate, key card, maintenance card, owners guide, Ford bag the books came in, original keys and the original build sheet found inside the spare tire well.
Under the hood is killer nice! Absolutely no oil leaks, everything is super nice in every way. All the zinc bolts and brackets are bright along with the gold engine paint which has never been toughed up or rubbed the hood pad. Even the factory chalk and grease pen markings are visible. The undercarriage is the same, with no rust or grease residue. Its all very clean and proves the car was never driven in bad weather or during winter months.
The trunk is very clean and shows no wear with the factory cargo net still in place. Under the spare tire cover is all the original jack parts and the spare which has never been on the ground.
This SHO simply drives like a new car, never driven hard and that really shows because its tight and very solid. My father purchased a '93 SHO new, it was nice, but it did not have the nimble and light feel the First Generation SHO's had. This car is fun to drive.
Everything on the is car works as it should, including the A/C, power seats, power windows, gauges, lights, horn, cruise control, wipers, etc. etc...
The Gen 1 SHO's have a look of their own that is unmistakable when driving down the road. Hagerty recently added the early SHO's to their future collector car list and being 30 years old next year, this car is sure to increase in value. This SHO comes with a car cover, extra floor mats, the original wheels, all books, service records, and articles about SHO's. The title is a clear Colorado title ready to transfer ownership. I have been an eBay member since 2000 with 100% feedback, so please bid with confidence. For more information call me at 303 475-4544. I reserve the right to end the auction early. Thank you

I also want to mention I did run a CarFax on it and its squeaky clean. I shows its history in Colorado, documents the miles, shows its a three owner car (first owner until 2013), a few service records at local Ford dealerships and NO issues of any kind regardingdamage. Thank you
