Description for Ford Falcon 1964
IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A NICE LITTLE FALCON, THIS MAY BE THE ONE! The car was built in San Jose, California and all the body panels and floor look original to me. Its powered by a good running 289 with a 4 barrel carburetor. It has a 4 speed manual transmission, driver quality red paint and nice Torque Thurst wheels. HOW IS THE BODY? Looks very solid to me, I see no rust bubbles in the paint and no rusty holes... on the bottom. The torque boxes and frame rails look very solid. The under side is not detailed for show, it just a old car. It has no under coating so you can see the real stuff. It looks very solid on the under side, but it has surface rust and not painted slick. HOW IS THE PAINT? Very presentable red diver quality paint. I see no rust and no big dents, the shine is good. If you look for a spec or tiny defect you can find it. Its good, just not a $20,000 show queen paint job. The pictures do make it look perfect, be very careful on my car and others you see on ebay. Pictures can make them look flawless. HOW IS THE INTERIOR? New carpet, new front seat cover, door panels OK, dash pad has minor waves, headliner good. HEAD LIGHTS WORK! TAIL LIGHTS WORK! TURN SIGNALS WORK! BRAKES LIGHTS WORK! TACHOMETER WORKS! WIPERS WORK! HEATER BLOWER WORKS! TACHOMETER WORKS! HORN NOT WORKING! ORIGINAL RADIO NOT WORKING, but a nice quality CD AM/FM is mounted under the dash. HOW DOES THE CAR DRIVE? To me it drives good, it is not power steering. HOW DOES THE CAR STOP? Decent for 1964 drum brakes not power. HOW IS THE ENGINE? Its a good running 289, I hear no knocks or rattles and see no blue smoke. It is not the original engine, but its a perfect fit and is the size that could have come in the car. Its a good engine with a 4 barrel carburetor, headers and dual exhaust. HOW IS THE TRANSMISSION? Its a 4 speed manual, no clutch slip and it shifts good, reverse is a little tricky the first time you go for it, its a stiff spring to the left. HOW IS THE CHROME? Bumpers new, new door handles, side trim nice, roof band good, rear chevrons on rear quarter have some pits. HOW IS THE GLASS? Side and back glass are very good, windshield has a very minor wiper mark, none of the glass has cracks or milky areas. HOW ARE THE TIRES AND WHEELS? 14 inch torque trust style wheels, rear tires look new, fronts were old so I'm having new ones put on tomorrow.
WHERE IS THE CAR LOCATED? Athens, Tennessee 37303. BOTTOM LINE: This is a nice solid California built car that looks great and runs good. Its not a perfect Show Queen, but nice.
