Description for Ford F-250 1971

1971 F-250 557ci stroker
Prepare yourself. This is an animal. All it needs is your vision and expertise to bring this to life as your dedicated drag truck or killer street strip machine.
Engine is a freshly rebuilt 460 block, bored and stroked to 557ci. Transmission is a fully built C6, ready for abuse. Runs and drives great! The only issue is keeping the rear end in a straight line! Driveline has barely 100 miles on it since full build. I start it and harass the neighborhood about once a month. Vacuum canister installed to assist the brake booster. Transmission cooler installed to keep things reasonable. I have a folder full of receipts and specs on the build and parts used.
The interior is down to bare bones and ready for your imagination. Add a few comfort bits to make this a daily driver or cage it and take it to the strip, the choice is yours. Bucket seats with 5 point harness. Quick release steering wheel. Winters gate shifter. Completely custom rewired harness with individual switches for the fuel pump, electric water pump, and electric fan. Gauges wired for tach, water temp, oil pressure, and volts. Three more digital gauges installed for water temp, oil pressure, and air fuel ratio. Digital gauges just need to be wired up.
Included with the sale:
  • Used red hood in good shape
  • Posi unit for the rear end
  • Two race bullet mufflers
  • 3 Door panels [a set of red, one green]
  • Drivers side tail light lens
  • Original Ford West Coast Jr mirrors
  • A box of random odds and ends

Street legal and registered in California.
Bad items to keep in mind. The windshield is cracked most of the way across. There is some rust on the lower rear corner of the drivers door and a hole in the front of the drivers door jamb. NO OTHER MAJOR RUST. Rear passenger bed corner by the taillight is pushed in a bit. Truck has bumps, dents, scratches, etc. This is a driver/project.
This is a very solid, performance F-250. Starts and runs really well and VERY strong. Drives down the road straight as long as you can keep your foot off the gas pedal (-:
