Description for Ford Other 1946
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1946 Ford Convertible for sale. The 1946 Ford was the first production car made by Ford following WWII. It was powered by either a 6cyl or two variants of a V8. The example offered has a Flathead V8 mated to an automatic transmission. This car is mechanically sound and cruises down the road with elegance. Finished in Dynamic Maroon, the exterior of this vehicle is very clean and has all of the... correct exterior chrome trim. The tan soft top features a glass rear window and is power operated. Despite being over 70 years old, the power top is still in working condition. The interior is extremely clean. The seats are two-tone with red leather and tan cloth. All seats, carpets, dash components, and various other interior pieces are all in exceptional condition. Located underneath the dashboard one will find aftermarket gauges that are mounted on a chrome bracket. Mechanically and cosmetically this car is in exceptional condition. The engine and transmission work wonderfully together and there is no other word to describe the driving experience other than elegance. The selling party indicates that his father had owned the car for the past 25 years and did a spectacular job restoring the car just over 12 years ago. Ford returned to producing civilian cars with the 1946 model year. To get cars out to consumers as fast as possible Ford made no changes to the chassis or drivetrain of the 1946 model from the 1942 model. Ford redesigned the body but left the rest of the car. What was left was a beautiful car with elegant curving lines and an established drivetrain. Please call or email with any questions or for additional information.
