Description for Ford Mustang 1966

1966 A Code Mustang Factory GT Coupe. This is a true factory GT. The car has never undergone restoration or been modified in any way from original 1966 model. The A Code engine (289 Cubic Inch / 4V / 225 HP / 10:1 CR Challenger Special) was rebuilt September 1981 at 165K miles. Since less than 5. 00 miles have been put on the rebuilt engine. Compression was 145 to 160 psi and oil pressure was 45 psi. The carburetor still has the original tag in place and is an Autolite 4100. Door panels. armrests. seat covers and carpet have all been renewed to Warranty Plate Trim Code 26. Weather stripping. Headliner. Sun visor Pads and Padded Dash are all in excellent condition. Original A/M radio. gauges. turn signals. courtesy lights and back up lights are all in proper working order. Has Visibility Group Option (Remote Control Mirror. Day/Nite Mirror and 2 Speed Electric Wipers). A Quality chrome off paint job was done June 8. 1986 to Warranty Plate Color Code T Candyapple Red and the paint is in very good driver condition. It has some nicks and some very small bubbles. shown in the pictures. in the driver fender (please see photos). The original 1966 Owner’s Manual . Electrical Assembly Shop Manual and Mustang Restoration Manual are included. In fact original owner kept extensive records of every maintenance done on the car. oil changes. ect. Included is a very large folder of receipts dating back as far as 1966. as well as handwritten notes from the original owner. The original title to the vehicle included and in almost perfect condition. The car has had two owners before us. who both maintained the car to impeccable standards. The man we purchased it from used it as a Sunday driver and kept it in a covered garage. We have done the same. The car runs amazing and could be a daily driver. though in cold weather she may need a minute to warm up. We drive her to car shows to enjoy the ride. then polish her up when we get there. We have even been rained on on the trip and her sealing proved to have no problems. First owner replaced left front fender March 16. 1982 after an altercation with a deer. Other than the small mishap. there haven’t been any accidents with the car. Tires are Solar S/R 300 Steel Belted Radials size P195/75 R14 with 50%+ tread left. Amazing car to both drive and enjoy or to store and show; as we have brought home a trophy every time she has gone to a car show.
