Description for Ford F-100 1977
1977 Ford F100 Custom Pickup VIN: F10GRY06761 I’m often asked where we find these nice old rigs. A good friend of mine cruises parking lots of retirement homes. Elks clubs. the V. F. W halls and the back alleys of a well-known Scandinavian neighborhood here in Seattle. He can spot a seatbelt slammed in a car door a mile away… He even notices when a vehicle is driving down the road with a turn signal on just a little too long and he positively twitches with glee when passing a car or truck with metal bumpers. If you’re in the market for a great driving. well-kept. vintage daily driver (with a just-rebuilt engine) please give this half-ton truck your kind attention. You’re also welcome to contact me with questions or to discuss a sale before the end of the Ebay listing. My name is Mark Thompson and I can be reached at 206/914-1173. Here’s how the VIN code and door data plate break down: F10 – One-half Ton F-Series Truck G – 302 CID (5. 0L) V-8 with 2BBL R - San Jose. California Assembly Plant Y06761 – 1977 Production From the Data Plate: WB - 133 Inch Wheelbase Color: 8 – Light Blue Body: SB4 – Custom Cab with Style Side Box Trans: G – 3 Speed Automatic Axel: 46 – 2. 72 Locking Dana/Spicer GVW: 4700 Lbs. DSO: 74 – Seattle Domestic Special Order From the above it appears the truck was delivered to a Seattle Ford dealer after its scheduled production date. It's been a local rig since new! There is no special order information shown. so it most likely entered regular dealer stock inventory and was sold in the fall of that year. CONDITION: Several weeks ago a call came in from a young lady living in the above mentioned neighborhood of Ballard (it’s fast becoming Seattle’s version of Brooklyn; absolutely THE place to reside if you’re a young. urban techie!). She’d used this pickup in a recent video and wanted it off the books and out of their storage area. I quickly obliged. loaded it on one of our trailers and then proceeded to use it as my daily driver for the next week (if you follow our Ebay auctions you know I’ve got a real soft spot for ol’ trucks). Truly. it’s a very. very nice rig! I take great pride in the vehicles we sell and feel that you should know as much about them as possible. Accordingly. here is a list of what’s been recently done: After spending those first few days behind the wheel I felt the engine could benefit from some freshening. Our Mechanic pulled the drivetrain. tore the engine down and sent the heads out to the machine shop for a complete rebuild. While they were being tanked. the valves ground and new guides pressed in. he proceeded to rebuild the engine’s bottom end. Both the crank and cam were inspected and all eight cylinders honed. Brand new rods. pistons & rings were installed along with complete bearing sets for both the rods and mains. Of course. all new gaskets were used in the build. We kept the MSD Blaster coil and Edelbrock high-rise aluminum intake manifold in place as they do really add to overall performance. One turn of the key and the strong 302 cubic-inch V8 fires right up with just a few pumps of the gas pedal when cold. I’ve now put an additional 200+ miles on after the build to be sure the engine is properly broken-in. The three-speed C-4 automatic transmission shifts smoothly. just like it should. with NO slippage. The data plate spells out 2. 72 locking gears in the DANA/Spicer rearend pumpkin and power steering plus power brakes are here. too. The body's had one good quality repaint to the original factory solid light blue color. and it’s literally just about perfect! I find no evidence of accident repair or extensive bondo. Climb over. under and throughout this truck; I know you’ll come up smiling! Rust? This classic cruiser HATES rust and you’ll be very hard pressed to find anything here to worry about. Yes. the Puget Sound region gets its share of drizzle. but rarely any snow. so our winter roads are not salted. One snowflake and everyone stays home Take another look at the interior pics. The vinyl bench seat is comfortable and has stood the test of time well. As pictured. there are NO cracks in the original dashpad cover. The sun visors are fine and so is the headliner. New custom-fit carpet was just installed in the factory color. Both door panels are replacements in very decent shape. I’m impressed with the condition of the dash gauges. They still look as clear and bright to me as the day this rig left the San Jose plant back in late 1976 heading for our Seattle District Sales Area (this rig has spent its entire life driving our salt-free Puget Sound basin roads). A nice set of triple gauges are mounted under-dash to help monitor engine performance and I really appreciate the large tachometer on the steering column keeping track of the RPM’s. A great Pioneer AM/FM/CD player (with removable faceplate) completes the interior. Very adequate box speakers are mounted behind the seat. This F100 Custom is fun to cruise in and has many years of service yet to render! About the only negatives I can think to point out are: The needle on the voltage gauge doesn't move. there are a few “bullseye” dings on the windshield and the tires are old & down to about 40%. They’re perfectly serviceable and I drive on them every day. but want you to know. I’ll be sure to include the anti-theft key (stored in the glove compartment) that un-locks one lug nut on each wheel. I always encourage folks to stop by my Auburn. Washington warehouse (by appointment) to inspect. drive and make an offer. Please BID WITH CONFIDENCE and know that you are purchasing a well-kept. great running and driving truck from a respected Ebay Seller. While we always sell vehicles on an “as-is. where-is” basis. my goal is be sure you’re happy with your purchase - and your dealings with me – with the hope that you’ll be back again for one of our future vehicle auctions. Because of the amount of money involved in buying a vehicle. I require Ebay members with a feedback history of five or fewer transactions to call or email before placing a bid. If we don’t have this initial contact. your bid may be cancelled. The phone number to talk directly to me. as outlined above. is 206/914-1173. Please feel free to call any time during the auction. My name is MARK THOMPSON. A Few Additional Terms and Conditions: A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction’s conclusion. The balance is due by cash or certified funds within seven business days unless prior arrangements have been made with me. I can accept PayPal. but if you plan to pay any more than the deposit through them I’ll first need to invoice you and ask that you cover the 3. 5% fee PayPal charges. Please remember you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! You’re not bidding to hold or then come inspect and test-drive the F100 later as you’re more than welcome to do this before the auction ends. If you decide to have the truck shipped home. there are scores of vehicle transport companies to choose from. I send off vehicles regularly and suggest that you get a transport bid from Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS). They're Ebay’s preferred transporter and will give you a fair quote. Call them directly at (888)587-5096. Give the phone rep my affiliate number (2362642) so they can pull up all our location info. As an alternative. you might also get bids from the U-Ship. com website. You’ll be able to choose a transport broker from multiple offers. The zip code for pick-up would be 98002 (Auburn. Washington). The shipping of the vehicle and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER. You’re welcome to keep the rig free of charge at my location for up to two weeks after the auction ends assuming full payment has been received. After that period storage is $20 per day.
