Description for Ford F-100 1959
1959 Ford F100 I built using the chassis and running gear from a 2007 Crown Victoria. The donor Vic had just under 100k miles when it was swapped. 2,000 miles since it was built. The build got everything the Vic had under neath such as 4 wheel disk brakes, fuel injection, and modern front end.The factory coils were replaced with air bags. Slam Specialties RE-6 in front and RE-7s out back giving the truck about 6" of overall travel. I installed bump stops to keep it from laying on the rockers but they could be removed if you want lower. The air management system is Air Lift Performance 3h system with height sensors at all 4 corners to keep you level. Has a 5 gallon tank with two Airmaxx compressors. 3/8" airline throughout with an added train horn to boot.
The truck was built using the crown Vic floor and firewall to allow it to be body dropped as well. It does have the factory Crown Vic AC system in it but the fridgerant leaks out. I have not diagnosed where it's leaking from.
The bed floor was raised to clear the Crown Vic frame and trated deck boards added on top. There is a storage compartment in front (compressors and tank) and one in the rear for storage. The hood has no hinges but latches down on both sides plus the front secondary latch making it a lift off hood.
The truck has Dakota Digital Gauges with aftermarket steering column.
The rust sections were cut out and new metal weld in place but no finish body work was done so patches are visible. The back and under sides of all panels and frame were cleaned up, coated in POR-15, and then top coated in undercoating. The paint job is amateur and was just done to be a good looking driver. White Walls are also painted on.
