The ’55 model year was all new for Ford. They had an all new look. The one we have has had a full concourse restoration with pictures of the process. It was pulled off the frame and taken to bare metal. This a high quality resto that you couldn’t come close to building for the price it’s being offered at. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior. interior. and driveline of the Ford. but first we would like to tell you a little about us. Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned. operated. and own our entire inventory. no consignments. and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 50 to 60 cars at all times. We don’t have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So. that’s how we can sell for less than other dealers. The body was media blasted and from what we can see in the pics the body needed very little work. Everything is covered in the Raven Black paint that has a deep rich shine. The stainless looks very good with some looking to be new. The chrome is either new or has been re-chromed. It has the cow Guards front and rear. The top is also new and its power that works well. All the glass removed and what was not excellent was replaced. They installed new seals around it. It also has new weather stripping to ensure good fit of the doors and trunk. The final exterior touch is the set of wide whites and full size hubcaps. Next. we will take a look at the interior of the Convertible. On the inside it was done from top to bottom just like the exterior. The seats and door panels are done in white with the red inserts. It has the black boot cover that flows perfectly with the exterior. The dash was pulled. cleaned. and painted back the way it came. Red and White. All the trim was polished and what needed to be replaced was. Finally. we will take a look at the driveline of the Ford. Under the hood it looks like it would have in 1955. It has a 292 V8 that is mated to the 3 Speed Manual and correct rear end. The engine is painted correct and has the Oil Bath Breather. It has dual exhaust with stock style mufflers. When the body was off the frame it was blasted and rebuilt both the front and rear. Being sure to paint everything while it was apart. It has all new brakes down to the lines as well as everything in the fuel system being new. Take a good look at the bottom pics it has painted and polished floors.
