Description for Ford F-250 1989
1989 FORD
F250 Lariat XLT
Regular Cab
VIN: 1FTHF25G3KPA0467
I'm often asked where we find these clean, near-vintage vehicles. I've asked a good friend to keep a sharp eye as he cruises parking lots of retirement homes, Elks clubs, our V.F.W. Hall and the small-town back streets of rural areas near Seattle. He can spot a seatbelt slammed in a door a mile away... He'll notice when a nice old car or truck is driving with a turn signal left on just a little too long and he positively twitches with glee when a vehicle with metal bumpers passes by! Occasionally, we'll get really lucky and find one sitting right there under our noses. That's the case with this nice 3/4-ton truck that has been owned by the same family for the past 23 years and appears to have received regular maintenance. It has been represented to us as having fewer than 79,000 actual miles. If you're in the market for great late-80's pickup, please give this F250 XLT Lariat your kind attention. Feel free to contact me with questions or to discuss a sale before the end of the Ebay auction. My name is Mark and you can reach me directly by phone or text at 206/914-1173.
CONDITION:
The photos really tell the truck's story. From what we've been told, it's spent the past thirty years here in the Great Pacific Northwest driving our salt-free Washington roads. We've found absolutely NO evidence of any major accidents, storm damage, insurance salvage, theft recovery, repossession or any other nasty negatives to cause you concern as the next caretaker! After the truck arrived at my warehouse our mechanic looked it over thoroughly. All the posted photos you see were taken on 09/11/2019 outside my shop (it's been great weather here in the Seattle area during the early fall).
I take pride in our vehicles and feel that you should know as much about them as possible. Accordingly, here's a list of the positive and also any small things possibly needing attention: The overall exterior is in good condition. My wife really appreciates the aluminum running boards that make getting in and out easier. The rig still wears its factory two-tone paint with a few spots of primer showing. As you'd expect, there are rock chips and minor dings. Rust? Well, this classic Ford HATES rust and you'll be hard pressed to find ANYTHING here to worry about! Because we rarely get snow west of the Cascades, our winter roads are never salted. Climb over, under and throughout - I know you'll come up smiling! Back in 1989 this was about the most heavy-duty Ford truck you could buy, and its classic style and durability have proven themselves over the passing years.
One turn of the key and the strong 460 CID gasoline V8 fires right up every time. The easy-breathing exhaust has a newer muffler and a nice throaty rumble; almost sounds like a hot rod! The three-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly, just like it should, with NO slippage. Of course, there's a tilt steering column and power steering. The power front disk brakes stop the rig just fine with no pulling or binding. Tires aregood with 80% remaining tread all-around. This truck really is fun to drive, has massive power and will take you anywhere you'd wish to go.
Please take another look at the interior pics. The bench seat upholstery is original, has a fold-down armrest and is in decent condition. The factory carpets are in great shape as well with only a little soil. NO sagging or warped headliner board either! All the glass is great including the windshield. The original Philco AM-FM cassette stereo is still in place and works fine. Some attention is needed to make the A/C functional (I'm not sure what that will entail, though the heater works great). I've never tried out the factory cruise control and don't know whether it engages. The previous owner cautioned against using the front gas tank until a new sending unit is installed. I'll include a one in the box with the truck. That's about it! If you're thinking of bidding on a comparable Chevy or Ram pickup of similar vintage, you really owe it to yourself to drive and look over this nice F-250 first!
PLEASE BID WITH CONFIDENCE and know that you are purchasing a nice truck from a respected Ebay seller. I want you to be happy with your purchase (and with me) and that's the main goal! Please don't be upset by a missed flaw or some unforeseen problem! No vintage car or truck is ever perfect. Having said this, I've been using the Ford as a daily driver the past month, even trailering home a '69 VW Beetle from the hinterlands and have been pleased with its towing ability and over-all performance.
Because of the amount of money involved in buying a vehicle, we require that Ebay members with a feedback history of five or fewer transactions call, text or email before placing a bid. If I don't have this initial contact, your bid may be cancelled. As I've outlined above, the phone number to talk directly to me is 206/914-1173. Please feel free to call (or text) any time during the auction. My name is MARK. You're welcome and encouraged to come by my Auburn, WA warehouse to look over & drive the rig. If distance is an issue, I'll make time to meet with an inspector you've hired. You might also consider making an offer as many of my vehicles sell to smart "early birds" that contact me to work out a deal prior to the auction's end. I always reserve the right to sell during this period.
Many of our past buyers from as far away as Alaska, Arizona, the Midwest, Canada, Florida, New York and even the Mexican Baja have flown in here to Seattle and then started a road trip home the same day in their purchase. While I have every confidence, the truck could handle a long-distance drive, it's 30 years old and has earned the right to do short sprints instead of a full-blown marathon. Shipping usually equals (or is cheaper) when all the ancillary costs are added in - and no flat tires to deal with in the middle of nowhere with shipping either. As a respected Ebay seller with many satisfied online buyers, I want you to bid with confidence knowing that this truck runs and drives out as it should AND that it is being properly represented to you! Please don't be upset if I miss a minor flaw or some issue comes up. NO used vehicle is ever perfect.
A Few Additional Terms and Conditions:
The entire purchase price is due by cash (in-person only), a wire transfer or other certified funds within seven days of the auction closing. I can accept credit/debit cards but will need to first send an invoice from our card processor and ask that the 3.5% fee charged by them be added. Please remember you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! You're not bidding to hold or then come inspect and test-drive the Ford later -- You're more than welcome to do this before the auction ends.
If you do decide to have thevehicle shipped home, there are numerous transportcompanies to choose from. While delivery of the truck and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER, I ship vehicles regularly and I have access to the nationwide Central Dispatch system. I can check to see what typical delivery costs have been to your area recently and then post a transport offer for the truck at a fair price. We usually then have a shipper lined up within a few days. The buyer pays the transporter COD when they arrive with the vehicle. No upfront deposit or other hassles.
TheFord can be stored free of charge at my location for up to two weeks after the auction ends assuming full payment has been received. After that period storage is $20 per day.
