Description for Ford Model 40 1934
INTERNATIONAL AND OVERSEAS BUYERS WELCOME! PLEASE CALL ME AT (76O) 805-8O3EIGHT WITH ANY QUESTIONS. I WILL BE HAPPY TO DO A BUY IT NOW FOR SERIOUS BUYERS. Pictures do not come close to doing this justice but please click on the YouTube walk around video above to get an idea. Simply put, this is easily the nicest Early Ford that I have ever had and I have had a bunch. It is a beautiful, all steel 1934 Ford Five Window Coupe that has had a complete Body Off restoration. It started with a nice, rust free California car and I have photos documenting the resto all the way down to when it was a bare frame. I also have a giant folder of receipts for all of the things that were done. It is powered by a larger and more powerful 1949 Mercury Flathead V-8 that was completely and professionally built by a well known Flathead expert at the time of restoration. It is mated to a three speed manual transmission. If you are looking for a modified Street Rod with air conditioning and leather, THIS IS NOT IT. It is not a Hot Rod. It was restored as Henry originally intended it with some tasteful modifications. Unlike a lot of cars out there, this was not just a quick re-paint and call it a restored car. It was a thorough and comprehensive restoration. The mile deep black paint is absolutely gorgeous. The finish is like glass. The fit and finish, as well as the body lines, are all excellent. The 34 is arrow straight. As you would expect, there is zero rust on this car. The undercarriage and floors are nearly as clean as the top side, save for some dust and minor chips from being driven and enjoyed. The original frame is beautiful and the VIN number is clearly stamped on the driver's side front frame rail. The chrome and brightwork are in excellent condition and were all restored or new from Bob Drake or C&G Early Ford Parts. The interior looks like new. The upholstery, dash, wood, garnish moldings, door panels, headliner, gauges, steering wheels, etc. are all in beautiful condition. The glass is excellent. The front window cranks out fine. The rear window rolls down fine. Both side windows crank forward and roll down fine. Working original Cowl vent. I have many extra parts that will go with the car.
The car runs and drives very well. It starts right up and settles into a smooth idle. It sound great through the new Ed Hansen exhaust. It does not run hot. The engine compartment itself is extremely clean. Wire wheels with excellent tires. The trunk area is nicely finished. I could go on for hours about this car. But the truth is, it really is one that needs to be seen to be appreciated. Nobody will be disappointed with this car. It is that nice. That being said, it is not a perfect 1000 point Concours restored undriven trailer queen either. Please be realistic with your expectations. I think you could look for years to find another example of this quality for the money. You could not come close to building this car for what you can buy it for today. It will sell this first time advertised. We already have a chopped Model A, a 1932 Three Window Coupe, and a custom 1936 Roadster. We need some room. Clean, clear CA title in hand with tags until 2020.
