My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking a question or placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1981 Ford F250 4x4. I bought this truck because I thought it was cool. but it will need a bit of work. As you can see. the exterior has been painted camouflage. Under the camo paint. I can see some sheet metal on the fenders and rockers. probably to replace rusty sections as is common with these trucks. Overall. the body doesn't look too bad for a 30 year old truck. I'm sure there is rust somewhere that I missed. This truck is being sold for parts/restoration only. not as a truck you can fire up and safetly drive. The doors. hood and tail gate all open/close easily. The windshield is cracked and may need replaced if safety inspection is required in your state. The camo paint job is obviously not professionally done but still looks pretty cool. The alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in a nice set of matching Firestone Destinations with good tread all around. I didn't see any structural concerns underneath the truck. There are a pair of diamond plate tool boxes on either side of the bed. All of the lights appear to be working. The interior obviously shows some age as you'd expect on a 30+ year old truck. The door panels look kind of rough but are intact. The windows roll up and down easily. The bench seat also shows wear. as you can see. The seatbelts appear to be missing. The dash looks old and shows multiple cracks. faded spots and other signs of age. The interior lights light up. The heater works. There isn't much else to say. Mechanically. this truck appears to be in good running and driving condition. This truck has been sitting around for quite some time. It has not been started in over a year. I bought this as a trade in from a bigger dealer in Hanover. PA. The truck did run without issue and made the 45 minute drive from Hanover to Etters without incident. The engine started easily but I recall it did take a bit of patience to get it idling on its own on cold mornings. as you'd expect with an old carbeurated engine. The engine appears to be stock with exception of a Holley air cleaner and an Edelbrock carb. The exhaust is on the loud side (not sure if that's on purpose of if there is a hole somewhere. The exhaust ends at the rear muffler. which is obviously aftermarket. The parking brake is weak. The engine keeps excellent oil pressure and holds good temperature. As with any old Ford. the clutch is a little tough and shifting takes a little effort. The clutch doesn't slip. The front hubs are manual and lock/unlock easily. It goes in and out of 4WD quickly and easily. Out on the road. the steering and suspension feel okay but please keep in mind that this is a 1981. not a 2001 so expect it to feel loose by todays standards. As you should also expect with a 30+ year old truck. you're probably going to have to do stuff to it here and there. This is a heavy old truck that can go through just about anything winter can throw at you this year. It was driven daily up until it was traded in on a newer truck. I bought it and it has sat ever since. It should start and run if you bring a good battery and are handy with old carbeurated engines. I would plan to trailer it home and sort it all out there. These older trucks are getting more and more valuable. This would make a great restoration project or a tough old beater truck. I was told that they had to do quite a bit of work to convince this guy to trade this truck in. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
