I love them. and apparently the whole WORLD loves them because we have sold more classic trucks in the past 3 months than ever before. and most are going overseas. This amazing truck is being offered for the first time here on eBay. and is a classic looking machine with all the modern parts needed to make it the long-haul cruiser you have always wanted. THIS VEHICLE HAS A CLEAN AND CLEAR FLORIDA TITLE IN OUR POSSESSION. AND IS NOT A CONSIGNMENT VEHICLE. DESCRIPTION You hardly ever see a FORD with FORD power these days. and whenever I do. I usually find that I am buying the vehicle in question from a certified FORD Nut. and that the vehicle will be a reliable. professionally done machine ready for anything. That is exactly the case with this amazing 1949 Ford F1 Pickup truck. and from its start in South Carolina until today. it has a lot of good stories to tell about the cruises it has gone on. the trophies it has won. and the good times it has had. The truck was originally completed in 1997 according to the previous owner. and it was driven locally and regionally from its home in Greenville. South Carolina by the original builder and Hot Rod Shop owner that used it for daily running around and weekend car shows. Apparently. after he passed away in the mid 2000’s. his Son brought the truck down the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona. where the person I bought it from acquired it. He drove it for a few years. and decided he wanted to upgrade some things. so the original front straight bar axle with drums was swapped for a MUSTANG II unit with Power steering and front disc brakes. Also at that time. new bed wood and strapping was installed. and the truck had lowering blocks installed to drop it down a little lower while maintaining a good ride quality. Flash forward to 2012. The prior owner decided it was time to do some more upgrades. and had the truck completely refinished in stunning Galaxy Black PPG Chromabase from front to back. including refinishing the bumpers to give it a clean. monochromatic look. While the whole truck was apart. a complete new interior was installed. including banded leather automotive grade carpet. custom leatherette bench seat with matching overhead console and kick panels that looks great with the original headliner and back panel. A custom fabricated under dash panel keeps things looking clean throughout. and still allows the cowl vent arm to work. Pioneer Separate speakers are installed in the kick panels. and provide great sounds through the overhead console mounted Kenwood KDC-BT652U head unit with AM/FM/CD/MP3/Ipod/USB/BLUETOOTH functionality and hidden amps. The leatherette is stunning. and shows no rips. tears. seam pulls. or damage of any kind. Carpet still looks amazing. and appears to be damage free as well. Kick and under dash panels look fantastic. and are affixed with proper upholstery fittings for ease of future maintenance removal. Billet brake and gas pedals look great. and match the billet door pulls and steering wheel mount on the lower column. Factory gauge insert in the dash is clean and looks great. and the fuel. oil. and battery gauges seem to be working correctly. but the temp gauge is not. The speedo and odometer is non-functional as well. and stopped working back in 2012 when the dash was stripped of gauges and things for painting purposes. I do not know what it is. and truly have not had time to investigate it. Usually it turns out to be a bound up cable or something. The original starter button is intact on the dash. but is not hooked to the starter anymore. Head lamp pull works the lights as it should. 12V outlet is on the dash. and works. A toggle switch located on the dash is functional. but not hooked up to anything right now. and the electric wipers have not been used in so long because the windshield is treated with RAIN-X every year. they need addressed. Ashtray is intact and functional. and although no one in the past 10-odd years has smoked in it. I can’t tell you that someone didn’t in 1952. It has no odors of any kind. and basically smells like leather inside. The console mounted dome light isn’t working right now. and I have not had a chance to find out way. Could be a bulb? Anyway. know that it is currently non-functional. A GM tilt column is painted to match the dash. and has tilt functionality along with a turn signal stalk and gear selector arm. It is topped with a like-new GRANT GT steering wheel that looks perfect in the truck. Billet door pulls and chrome window switches on the door panels work as they should. and the door panels themselves are in exceptional condition with clean. damage and issue free leatherette covering them. Glass on the truck is in very good condition. and shows crack. chip. and break free. but there are a few light markings to be found from years of normal use. Nothing distracts you from driving or is a safety issue. but just know they are not PERFECT like a new cars glass would be. The weather stripping. window seals. door seals. and fuzzies are in good condition. but were installed in 2010 so they are not perfect. Windows go up and down with ease on the power switches. and doors and glass seal out the elements like they should. The front windshield rubber surround has wax on it. which I am sure you can get most of off when you detail the truck. I DO NOT DETAIL THESE VEHICLES. so you are seeing them with just a vacuum. quick wipe down with turtle wax detail spray. and some tire shine. Just imagine how incredible it will look when you take the time to wash. wax. and clean the nooks and crannies up!?! The bright work and trim on the truck is in very good condition. and shows only the lightest patina from normal use on the mirrors. hood pull. and fuel cap. The rest is super clean and looks great on the truck. The welting and front fender spacer trim is in like new condition. and shows no brittleness or damage. Bed wood is clean and looks great. but has been used as a bed so it is not perfect. It is fully functional. sealed. weatherproof. and mounted with gorgeous stainless bed strips and hardware. along with a fully functional tail gate with inside hidden chrome latches. The front head lamp trim. grill bars. rear tail lamp bodies. hood side trim. and emblems all look fantastic. and are in clean and neat condition. Slap a little polish on them and they will shine up even better than they look in the 75 photos below. Tail lamps have red lenses with blue dot centers like the old days. and they look and work fantastic! The truck rolls on American Racing 5-spoke Torq-Thrust rims in Gunmetal Gray with a Machined Aluminum lip. They are in exceptional condition and show no curb damage. dents. dings. or cuts. They are less than a year and 1000 miles old. and were installed when the new tires were purchased. The tires. also just about 1. 00 miles old. are BF GOODRICH Radial T/A units size P235/60R14 in front. and P255/50R15 in the rear. They are in damage free condition. and show about 85% of the useable tread life remaining. The body on the truck is 100% real solid steel. No fiberglass to be found. and the whole thing is super solid and straight. You can take a 4”x4” felt covered magnet over the entire painted surface of the truck and it sticks like glue! No bondo patches. no chicken wire. no beer cans or door screen…. Just solid. real. American steel throughout! The paint is a few years and a few thousand miles old. so it is not PERFECT. but it sure does look amazing!!! There are a handful or so minor little imperfections and signs or prior use on the truck. and most of those are little tiny stone chips and marks. This truck was driven. and although it won’t be under the lights for a Ridler Award this year. you sure as heck can show it off with pride at ANY local. regional. or National event without worry. The finish is still glossy and wet looking. as you can see in the photos. and I bet it will look even nicer when you get it home and actually detail it. We have not detailed the truck. so a little bit of your favorite polish and some elbow grease can make it shine even prettier than it does now! The panel fit is great. doors open and close like they should. tail gate works like it should. and the hood latches as well. The chassis on the truck is a combination of stock rails mated to the MUSTANG II front end. and what the previous owner said is a smoothed FORD 9” rear end with leaf springs out back. A stainless steel exhaust sounds nice. with a mellow rumble. and looks great too. The chassis and underside is actually painted and just covered in dirt and road grime. I took a towel and some water and wiped a little of the frame and rear axle. and if you wanted to put the truck on a rack and pressure wash it. you could make the underside REALLY look nice. Dirt comes off pretty easy. and that is all that is under it. The previous owner said the motor is a 302 V8 from a Ford Pickup in the 80’s. but I cannot find any numbers on it to see exactly what it is. It was installed when the truck was built in 1997. and was dressed in some new chrome and other things back in 2012 when the refresh was done. It starts and idles clean and smooth. and the truck does not smoke. weep. leak or anything else. You can drive it for a few hours. park it in the shop. and two days later…. NOT A DROP. 98% of the chrome dress up stuff on the motor looks like new. and shows wonderfully. and really only the alternator shows a bit of chrome flaking on it. but you can replace it for about $125 at Speedway if it bothers you! The rest of the motor shows really well. with a polished stainless firewall panel. front shroud. chrome breathers. valve covers. T-Handle VC bolts. Air Cleaner. and more. All of the wiring is neatly loomed and made to be as unobtrusive as possible. Hoses and lines all look relatively new. as do the clamps and things associated with them. The truck runs great. and has a nice clean idle. with a very mild highway friendly cam. It cruises right along in traffic when in town. and has enough gearing to get you on the freeway but keep the revs in check for those long distance cruises. It has not overheated on me once. and I have taken it out a half a dozen times to local car shows and cruise nights without incident. The farthest I went was about 75 miles round trip in a mix of city and highway driving. and the truck drove and performed perfectly the whole time. The previous owner used it as a Sunday fun truck. and took it to shows all along the East Coast of Florida. and went on a few 300 mile plus trips in it as well. The transmission shifts smooth and clean in all gears. the fluid is amber and clean. and it shows no signs of any issues. There is no shift kit in it. so it doesn’t do that terrible jerking when going between gears. The best thing about the powertrain is that it was built for long term reliability. NOT drag racing. so it is about as maintenance free and easy to own as you can get. which is nice if you are NOT a mechanic and just want a cool truck to drive. Brakes are solid and sure. and bring the truck down from speed without any unusual fade. pulling. wander. or excess modulation. Power assist works perfectly. and the front disc/rear drum set up is hard to beat on a truck. Steering is as solid and sure as you would expect in a MUSTANG II Rack. with no excessive slop. and an easy to manage feel at speed. Tires clear the fenders with ease. and there are no rubbing or scraping issues. It rides fantastic. with a nice firm feel that takes bumps without jarring you. and handles curves without feeling like it is going to wallow or lean off the road. There are no odd tendencies with the truck. and it doesn’t do anything “funny” that you have to wonder about. In fact. the more you drive it. the more your confidence level kicks in and makes you want to go farther. because you know it won’t leave you stranded. In short. if you are looking for a really clean. well maintained. reliable. trustworthy. and capable classic truck that you can take wherever you want. this is probably the one for you. In the area?
