Description for Ford F-100 1976
1976 Ford F-100 Explorer. 390ci, factory Holley four barrel carburetor, 4X4, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, automatic transmission, manual transfer case, warn locking hubs, high lift, near new 31-10.50x15 tires on American Racing 15x10 rims, factory under side tool storage, sliding rear window and gun rack. We bought this truck for my dad to keep at our campsite. Unfortunately due to his age, he cannot get in and out easily. The truck has had the radiator out and professionally serviced, a tune up, new starter, the cooling system flushed and new antifreeze. The previous owner since 1990 had stated that the engine had been rebuilt. It fires right up and runs smoothly, the transmission shifts solid, it has a lot of power. There is no exhaust smoke. The heat and A/C work but you have to add a can of Freon once a year. The paint, to me, rates a six out of ten. The original color was copper and can be seen in some of the pictures. The body, tailgate and bumpers appear to be original and are straight. It must have had an easy life. There is some rust, but not bad. I guess average for the age, like my dad. All told it holds the road very well, is fun to drive, and brings back good memories. The truck can be driven as is or you can put a coat of nice paint on it and have a real looker. The truck is up for sale locally. We retain the right to end the auction.
