ESTATE SALE: My neighbor. 87 yr. old widow. asked me to help find a home for a car her husband had collected. He liked it because of its uniqueness and rarity. Plans were to restore and possibly use as a traveling bill board for one of his businesses. It just never happened and the car set there for many years in storage after being drove in under it's own power. The car is 100% complete and even has the hard to find Calif. smog equipment. It has a standard and much used Ford 2000cc motor used in Pintos. Mustangs and others and a manual transmission. While this motor may run just fine I advised that we sell like it is as opposed to cleaning the gas tank. buying a battery. adding new tires. etc. There is absolutely ZERO rust other than a little surface spot here and there. The body is very straight and shows no evidence of collisions. We are listing with No Reserve as the car just needs to move on to it's next adventure. As of now it is being sold with a Bill of Sale. but she is looking for the title that she is sure is around. It has been off the road for over 15 years so it is no longer in the DMV data base. So NO penalties for past lic. . etc. It has a fold down rear seat that makes it nice for hauling but still able to use like a regular car. All seat belts and all parts are in place just as they were in 1977. even the original radio. I will be adding more pictures. so please let me know what you would like to see. I pushed the car out for pictures and wouldn't you know it. it rained. Crazy since we have been going through a real drought here in Cally. But actually the wet car shows how straight the body is. I will take more of it dry. The paint actually looks to be all stock and could possibly polish out. The portholes are original to this vehicle. It is being sold As-Is with no warranty. Also I kept being asked about the motor. So today I put a battery in it. changed out the plugs and added a little "Marvel mystery oil" down the cylinders. Low and behold with a little squirt of starting fluid into the carb and it fired right up! Just ran it about 20 seconds running off the starter fluid I could tell it was running off all 4 cylinders and had no odd sounds. I just feel the fuel system should be cleaned before putting fuel in the tank and firing it up. But I can confidently say the motor does run. Also I've had several east coast folks asked about storing until summer if they bought it. The answer is. no problem until June. as long as it is paid for. We can just cover it up and let it wait for the snow to melt. And an overseas buyer asked about getting a title (required for shipping) and I told them. yes. as long as the buyer pays the fees and can wait for about 60 days. (approx. $100. ) Again as long as the car is paid for.
