1981 Ford F150 Ranger XLT 4x4 Stepside 1FTDF14G9BPA69843 Up for auction is a 1981 Ford F150 step side 4x4 pickup with a 460 engine and 4-speed transmission with 168K miles. This is a fun truck that generates a conversation wherever I take it. This truck has been in the Albuquerque area its entire life until about 2 years ago when I brought it to Dallas. This F 150 has no rust issues common to F150s from colder climates. It sits in my garage without getting much use these days as I only drive it once every couple of weeks. This truck has its original blue paint. This truck is in far better condition than the average F-150 from the 80s and has been well maintained throughout its life. The wood bed is all there and still solid. but because of its age. it looks a little rough. It has 168. 952 miles. It only has a 5 digit odometer. but it has turned over once already. You’ll see in a carfax report that the mileage was incorrectly reported. or a typo. when the previous owner transferred the title from his father in April 2012. The air conditioner blows very cold. The tires are 31x10. 5 mud tires with less than 9. 00 miles on them. It has a Rancho lift kit with adjustable shocks. The truck has its original 4 speed Warner Transmission. The truck also has a fairly new Edelbrock carburetor and MSD ignition The previous owner installed the 460 from a Lincoln and the truck has tons of power (the original engine was a 351). Along with this 460. the previous owner also installed a second gas tank so it can hold about 30 gallons of fuel total. Finally. it has auxiliary radiator fans to keep the truck running cool. Again. this truck has no rust issues. This F150 has the original style white wagon wheels and it has most options except power door locks and power windows. This truck has the Ranger XLT trim package and “Free Wheeling” package which included the black grill and the white pinstripes. Finally. the truck currently has no radio. but I can include a 90s vintage Ford radio if interested. This truck has been well maintained and with the newer tires and recent maintenance. this F150 still has a lot of life in it. Not only that. but it is a really fun truck to drive.
