Description for Ford Galaxie 1964
Collector-Grade R-code Galaxie 500 Convertible Dual-Quad 427ci V8 4-speed ///Documented as one of only 204 427-powered Galaxie convertibles assembled for the 1964 model year, this classic is easily one of the finest full-size Fords in the country! The car recently benefitted from a comprehensive, frame-off restoration that was conducted by "Mr. Galaxie" himself, Clarksville, Georgia's Donald Allen. A roster of NOS components is veiled in correct Vintage Burgundy 2-stage that's been teased to a buttery, show worthy shine. That legendary pigment is fitted with a number of correct details, including fresh brightwork, factory-tint glass, FoMoCo lighting and an NOS top that's wrapped in NOS fabric. And presently, this high quality full-size rolls as timeless American muscle that, in addition to taking home AACA Junior and Senior honors on its first outing, has been displayed at the Hilton Head Island Concours d'Elegance. An authentic R-code stoplight slayer, this beast draws big motivation from a correct, 427 cubic inch FE V8. That mill transmits torque to a date-correct Borg Warner T10 4-speed. Behind that gearbox, a rebuilt Ford 9-inch spins an open differential around big, 4.30 gears. Old school manual steering joins heavy-duty drum brakes to mix surprisingly tight turns with weighted feedback. And at the corners of the car, high performance steelies twist 7.10-15 Firestone Deluxe Champion blackwalls around Ford 'dog dish' hub caps. Between the doors, fresh Black benches perfectly complement stainless-trimmed door panels. In front of those seats, a freshly finished dash hangs ornate gauges between a blue-trimmed steering wheel, a vintage AM radio and a vintage clock. And color-keyed floor mats protect like-new carpet, which frames a retro shifter. Looking for a stylish, comfortable and exclusive classic that commands respect anywhere it goes?
