Description for Ford F-100 1979
I HAVE OVER 3000 POSITIVE FEEDBACKS and am 150% honest. I’ve sold two previous cars of mine on EBay and never had one complaint. This is my 1979 F100 Ranger XLT Long Bed truck with a 302 and Air-conditioning.I had Full shoulder replacement surgery and it went bad. I need another surgery and am being told that I’m not going to have use of my arm for over a year. The truck is inside the only thing outside is the frame. The truck was 95 % rust free. Look at the pictures of it when I got it. Look at the floors you could eat off of them . There was bed rust. The rust was under the silver trim ring that went around the rear wheel wells. I saw it when I took them off. I figured if the bed had rust then the inner wells would look lousy but they didn’t (see picture of the bed standing up. The truck was all original when I bought it and only had 66,000 original miles. The previous owner took awesome care of the truck. As you can see from the pictures it has a mint interior never smoked in by the owner. I should have just driven it as it was for years to come!!!! Instead I decided to restore it. First I stripped the entire truck (every piece no matter how big or small was sanded down to bare metal. See pictures and you will realize when I say the entire truck that means everything even under the dash. I sanded the underside of the cab and underneath the bed. I used Por 15 on the frame, the underside of the bed and the cab. (See Pics). The truck was 100% stripped of everything. The frame was also sanded before I put on the POR 15. The hood and the bed are not primed and ready to go. The hood is bare metal and the bed has one new side tacked on and the other side is in the box still. They sent me two bed sides I will give you the other one with the truck. The rest of the parts I were primed and sanded and re-primed and sanded. I did this three times. The Entire Cab everything inside and out has three coats. The doors, both Fenders, the radiator support, door hinges, hood latch, glove box, inner fender wells, etc. (EVERYTHING ON THE CAB EXCEPT THE HOOD IS DONE) THE parts are Ready for a last sanding and then paint. I even put sound deadener on the floors and the cab roof. See picture of truck outside with $450 worth of sound deadener. I was going to mask it off when I painted the truck but that’s a mute point now The hood is bare metal completely sanded. The Bed: I bought new bed sides because of the small amount of rust mentioned above. I wanted new bed sides, others might have cut and fixed the originals. I went online to LMC Truck.I also bought new rear fender wells and a rear pan for bumper delete. The entire bed was also sanded which was stupid because I did all that work and then after it was done I bought new bed sides. The bed floor and everything was sanded The underside of the bed was treated with Por 15. See picture The motor is original and runs perfect. I took all of the wiring out and my son mistakenly threw it away. It needs a Painless Wiring System. I bought a brand new nut and bolt kit and now the truck is at a stand still. I have one completed toy a 1965 Mustang 347 Stroker with a supercharger thank god!!!! I have over 75 pictures of the work I’ve done so far email me to see them.. I’m not giving the truck away. If are skilled enough and can finish it on your own then you KNOW how much work is already done. It’s a loss for me no doubt between the man hours, sanding materials, the primer and the new brand new parts I have real money into this truck. I paid $6000 when I bought it. It also has a new carpet. The engine: ran perfectly and the exhaust is brand new stainless. The bumper is brand new as well. I was going to put another Ford Racing Stroker motor in it and it would have ripped.
