Description for Ford Ranger 1986

About this vehicleThis 1986 Ford Ranger is an original. The owner has had it for 2 years. The vehicle is drivable and is used as a daily driver.Seller's NotesRevised to 156,000 miles because of autocheck report. The report also indicates that there is a lien on this vehicle but that is not true. I have the title in hand with no lien.
Runs great. Used as intermittent daily driver by me for last 1.5 years. I've put 10,000 miles on it with no issues. Odometer says 59,900 but it could very well have rolled over. It's best to assume it's 159k or maybe even 259k.
The pros: This truck has never let me down. I've kept up on maintenance and have a spreadsheet with exact dates and mileage if you're interested. The body and frame are immaculate as far as rust. Very solid. I did front hubs which include wheel bearings and rotors, pads, and front calipers right when I bought it. Since then it has new plugs and wires and normal maintenance oil changes etc. Heater core is brand new as well. Replaced because it was leaking. I have had the engine oil tested in a lab and have paperwork to prove that there are no excess metals, water, fuel, antifreeze, or any other bad things in the oil. The headlights are new and very bright. Heat blows hot.
The cons: The interior is kind of rough. The radio is missing and the dash is cracked. The steering wheel was replaced with an Autozone special. The horn is activated by touching a wire onto the ignition switch. The a/c was crudely removed by a precious owner. The engine sometimes stalls when you press the clutch in. Some days it does it a lot and sometimes it doesn't do it at all for days at a time. It always fires right back up though. The engine also has a but of a tick which I suspect is lifters. This is very common for the 2.9L and has been doing it the entire time I had the truck. It hasn't gotten worse. Sometimes it doesn't do it at all and sometimes it's loud. There's a problem with the fuel filler neck. If you fill it too high it leaks everywhere. I just put $20 in the tank at a time and never have problems. The wipers and blower motor both only work on high. Easy fixes I imagine but not on my priority list.
All in all a great truck considering the age and ready to daily drive. If you have any mechanical skills this is perfect for you. Come test drive and inspect it to your heart's content. If you want pictures of specific things just let me know.ExteriorInteriorDeposits are refundable.Created on the eBay Motors app
