Description for Ford F250 1967

1967 Ford F250 Fleetside Pickup

In the advertising world, a good tag line can last a year or more. Rarely can you milk more than 41 years out of it. But Ford's truck line has managed to do it. "Built Ford Tough" is a phrase that still rings in the ears of diehard pickup fanciers. I'm pretty confident it's the longest running truck tagline out there, says Doug Scott, Ford's Truck Group marketing manager. "Built Ford Tough" is the essence of what we're all about." They're also about selling trucks, which Ford has managed to do in abundance in the 41 years that its high-profit truck line has stayed atop the sales heap. They outsell all other car or truck nameplates. Scott says the tagline is a big reason for that success.

Some of the success of the "Built Ford Tough" campaign in this 1967 Ford F250 Fleetside. She runs very strong, looks great, and has been lowered and bumped up on the power front with a 352ci V8 optioned from the factory.

Exterior
There is an overall patina of a "working life" look to the exterior of this truck. Slightly faded Holly Green with some areas of thinning, a bit of rust for the bed, and some paint off on the rear gate, these are badges of years of hauling and working, but being maintained. Aluminum for the front grille and headlight surrounds and a white bumper below, slightly faded badging and some window trimmings for the wing windows are a little rusted, but a wonderful used look has been achieved with this exterior. This all solid steel truck with gaps that are still good, sits on a set of 17-inch polished Cragar wheels which are on 2-inch lowered suspension.

Interior
Utility and simplicity abound with metal panels and shiny cranks and door actuator, with a work Holly Green armrest/pull in vinyl. A black rounded border with a smaller frame in chrome finishes off these doors so we can head inside! A newer tan broadcloth wide seat in bench form sits between the doors and is fronted by the original Holly Green metal dash. A newer smaller rally steering wheel is now fronting this dash. Worn dirty and faded textured rubber flooring and floor mats are covering the floors and don't be too turned off as it fits the overall look. Above a cream headliner hangs above and has slight cracks on the edges above the doors, along with cream sun visors hanging up there too.

Drivetrain
Under the hood in an unrestored and original engine bay sits a 352ci V8 with a single 2-barrel carburetor atop, and a New Process NP435 4-speed manual transmission on back. The rear axle is a Dana 60 version, with 3.73 gears. All is looking original under the hood.

Undercarriage
A fine misting of surface rust is noted in the structural steel and some suspension parts. Floorpans are just free and show plenty of patina with faded black paint covering them. Radius arm and coil spring suspension is upfront and on back are leaf springs. Power disc brakes are upfront and power drums for the back, and a Flowmaster exhaust in dual form is sealing its way throughout the undercarriage, emanating from a new set of headers.

Drive-Ability
Hi Ho Hi Ho,,,, it's off to work we go, but alas! It was the test drive. So, after a quick fire up and warm up period we hit the gas, then the brakes prior to starting out just to be sure we can stop if we get a head of steam going. And we did with that great 352ci V8 power working to our favor and command from my foot, bias free panic stopping, and good handling for a truck. The lowered suspension proved a nice ride and helped with the handling. All functions were working and reminder this is a radio delete truck, so my partner in crime and myself sang to each other a mix of songs from the Queen Bohemian Rhapsody album. (I told you this is a great job!)

A fine looking aged worker bee F250 Fleetside full bed truck. It is not perfect, but this truck does not strive for that, only better, a used condition well maintained truck ready to turn some heads on the job site with "Your Name Here" on the doors. HEY! can a little subtle advertising hurt??
