Description for Ford F-100 1965
This 1965 Ford F-100 is at a crossroads. Its original-style presentation and classic inline-six make it a great period-correct pickup. But at this value price there's also plenty left in the budget to use this as a foundation for a great custom. And as you read all the details, the desire only grows. So you can't go wrong with any of your plans for this pickup.Like any good workman truck, the Fords of this era were not trying to be too showy, but a custom cab has just the right amount of added panache. The sleek flairside body and full-length trim strip highlights the straightness of the panels and the overall sleekness of the truck. The design came straight from the factory with a hint of sporty style in the hood design and flared fenders. So the 15-inch mag-style wheels just seem like an appropriate upgrade. But nothing on this truck is too overdone. The white bumpers are true old school, and the factory-correct black paint has a classic lacquer finish with a touch of well-earned aging. It all makes for a look that is pure vintage.
Inside is more of the true classic feeing with the factory-correct red interior. This comes from the true old-school truck era where you got an artful steering wheel and a nice gauge panel. The best upgrades you wanted were the working heater, and this one even has an oil pressure gauge to let you keep a better eye on the engine. There is room for improvement, and the budget price really gives you more options. But the idea here is to let you choose how you want to customize your pickup, if at all. Because for some if us, there's an even larger appeal to something so authentic that even the correct AM radio is still there for display.
When you open the hood, the dark engine bay really funnels your attention to the bold blue block in the middle. This long motor has the unmistakable look of Ford's 240 cubic-inch inline six. We all know plenty of V8s fit in her with ease, but we like the fact that this already has a well-maintained version of a 1965 block. This one starts easy and idles nicely. Plus, the inline nature made these all-around smooth runners. So it makes for an ideal setup when you want a classic cruiser. And the feeling of a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission only adds to the vintage fun.
The sale comes complete with maintenance records and owner's manual. This F-100 has a ton of vintage charm, especially for this value price. Call now!
