Description for Ford Mustang 1968

Vehicle Details

1968 Mustang Coupe Sprint, factory Highland Green car, with Ivy Gold tutone interior, one repaint mid 80’s over original panels/sheet metal, (FoMoCo stampings visible in quarters, rockers, front aprons, etc), original FoMoCo glass (except windshield), the Mustang had been garaged all it’s life until straight line winds (or tornado), in 2011 blew the building away however, leaving the Mustang completely intact, unscathed sitting on the building’s concrete floor. This is when most deterioration began, still, you’d be hard pressed to find anything better or a first gen Mustang as complete, original, never being taken apart. A dream find to do a fastback conversion, or a restoration candidate, or with a little some additional mechanical work (fuel tank, fuel lines, probably new brakes, brake lines), a very cool driver with faded paint, barn find look. In the past couple months the car has new tires, carb rebuilt, new starter, new starter solenoid, new spark plugs, plus wires, points, condenser, cap, the engine, a 200 six cylinder, fires up and using fuel hose from small gas can, shifts into gear, moves on its own, needs very little to get it road worthy!

There’s some surface rust underneath, with some small areas of light surface rust that has just begun in the past few years, mostly on the hood, and a few other areas, (see photos), however, with that said, the car has NO MAJOR RUST issues, it’s never been taken apart, it’s complete, original, and unmolested, the only rot rust is the battery tray, a small area on the apron directly underneath the battery tray, and a very small section in the drivers side floor, about a 4”x6” approx the size of a standard letter type envelope (see photos), but the car has NO RUST in the pertinent areas where it’s normally seen on these cars. The shock towers, rails, quarter panels, inner/outer wheelhouses, inside trunk, trough around trunk, windshield, cowl, I could go on and on, the car is 95% rust free as far as rot.

I acquired the Mustang from the family of the original owner, with all the original dealership paperwork from Davis Motors the Ford/Mercury dealership that sold it new, along with original Ford owners manual, factory service info from 1968. I have a clean, clear, current Georgia title on the Mustang. I’m happy to answer all your questions, address your concerns, send additional photos, for serious inquiries, please be realistic, I’m an enthusiast of thirty five years, and most everyone understands a classic Mustang in the price range seen here will need work to be driven regularly, and depending on the buyers plans, a project. The car starts and runs but as stated, will need the gas tank cleaned or a new tank, lines, brakes, and most all of the usually things needed when a car has sat for ten years. If your looking for a restoration project, you will find NONE better, especially with original body panels. My plan was a 428CJ coupe replica, but I really want another station wagon, not to mention, I have a other cars, including a ‘69 Grande’ I need to finish, so I’m selling a couple….

Please view the photos carefully they are part of the description, please call before bidding if you have more than one negative feedback. Ask all questions before bidding, don’t bid, then ask questions ten minutes before the auction ends. I’m a member of eBay community since 2002, and worked hard to maintain the 100% feedback.

Please seriously inquiries only….email or call if no answer I will return your call asap…thanks
