Description for Ford Ghia Trio 1983
1983 Ford Ghia Trio. This micro car was originally built to be a small compact city car.
The name Trio comes from the three seat layout with the drivers seat being in the middles and the passenger seats being on both sides of the drivers seat, much like the legendary MClaren F1.
This is a Ford and Ghia collaboration. Ghia was prominent Italian coach builder. This Trio was a concept car and the only one ever produced!
The Trio debuted at the Geneva auto show. The trio originally came with a 250 cc engine pushing it to a top speed of 50 MPH and an MPG of 70.
I recently contacted the Henry Ford Museum as well as the Ford archives department and they had told me this is probably the only one in the world. VERY IMPORTANT this vehicle does not have a traditional 17 digit vin as it is a one of one concept car, as well as no title. This vehicle also has no engine currently. (I believe it was sitting in a museum somewhere and for whatever reason they had taken the engine how many years ago)
I’ve had quotes from a few shops that specifically work on vintage/classic cars and the number they gave me to put an engine in the vehicle was around $4000-$6000.
I do have all of the notarize paperwork a bill of sale and a Connecticut State provided vin and registration.
If you have any questions or concerns at all, please do not hesitate to contact me.
