Description for Ford 5W Coupe 1934
This '34 Ford 5W Coupe is one of the nicest Hot Rods you will see anywhere. All Henry Steel Coupe, meticulously massaged sheet metal all the way around, shot with 18 coats of Black lacquer some years ago that resulted in a finish that would be hard to replicate today. And it is still an awesome finish. If you broke your shaving mirror you could look at any part of this Coupe and get a smooth clean shave using it as your mirror! Stock height roof, not chopped for that traditional look. Stock hood and decklid, not a rumble seat car, beautiful original grille, perfect steel fenders front and rear. Original headlights and taillights along with perfect front and rear triple plated chrome bumpers. Steel gas tank cover with recessed license plate. Real Rodders wheels at all four corners, 14 x 6 up front with 195 70 B.F. Goodrich radials, 15 x 7 Real Rodders wheels in the rear shod with 255 70 B.F. Goodrich tires. Knock-off 3 bar spinners on all four wheels. Set yourself in the seat and get ready for a very smooth ride. Spinney-beck Sabrina leather was chosen for the interior, six hides were used to complete the inside, the bench seat with center fold-down alone took one hide. Black tight-weave carpet. '40 Ford column with a Juliano's Hot Rod '40 steering wheel controls the Vega cross steering. Turn signals setup on the column. Air Conditioning of coarse for cruising in the Summer months. Roll-out front window, roll down rear glass. Power door windows. Intricate engine turned dash insert with Stewart Warner curved glass "Wings" gauges, SW curved glass Tachometer is cup mounted and attached to the steering column. Kick panel courtesy lights and dome light, rear behind seat package tray. Seat belts for safety of course. Moving this Coupe down the road is a built 355 cu. in. small block Chevrolet engine, block has been completely smoothed and painted jet black, heads are aluminum and are highly polished to match the block. Inglese induction system with a matched set of Weber carburetors. Firewall has been shot in Candy Apple Red that really sets off the engine compartment! Mallory electronic ignition, TCI stainless steel block hugger headers. Babbs polished brass radiator. Turbo 350 transmission and the aluminum case has been fully polished. Stock '34 chassis, boxed front and rear, shot in a high gross PPG Silver. Stainless steel exhaust system, disc brakes up front on a chromed dropped axle held in place by a four-bar front end with a Posies' front leaf spring. 9" Ford rear end, also completely smoothed with a four bar rear radius rod setup. Coil over rear shocks, emergency brake is mounted on the driveshaft towards the rear. Rear disc brakes aid in stopping the car. The underside of the Coupe and the attention to detail as seen in the photos is incredible! This '34 was featured on 'My Classic Car' with Dennis Gage some years ago. And as stated earlier it has only 502 miles on it since the transformation from a beast to a beauty. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer 5W Coupe anywhere.
