Description for Ford Other 1953
A nice example of a classic. Ready to roll or ready to rod! This is not a show car just a solid. cool old driver with random :Dings . ents. rust. etc etc. My 7 year old & I cruise around about once a week in it and have for about 4 years. It starts every time. It is not fast but a lot of fun to drive and it looks great. I happened into this car by chance and have come to love the simplicity of it. I never have had to worry about scratching it or spending any money on it. Simple. Runs and drives very very well. 3 speed on the column. Goes down the highway straight and smooth! Brakes work well. Does not burn oil. Does not appear to leak any fluids! I bought a complete set of seats from a 1964 Cadillac Eldorado and have not completed bolting them in. They will work perfectly. They are the rare factory caddy buckets! Cost me just under a grand for those. This car has a solid body and would be a perfect candidate to take to the extreme or just keep as is and enjoy it as I have. The trunk still has a clean original red paint and has no holes or rust! I have not pulled the carpet but the floor feels solid as well. The motor area is not shiny but simple and huge. The interior is pretty basic and raw. Somebody put new carpet in it and the headliner is non-original but functional. That somebody built a custom console in the middle also. Door panel inserts need to be replaced. they got left in a recent move. Simple needs. I spent almost a grand on the front bullet and insert of the grill last year. those are pretty hard to find. The stock bumpers look great. All the dash and steering wheel is complete and looks good. Tires are good. Lights all work. Never tried the heater. Horn works. We were thinking of lowering it and maybe doing some kind of Rat Rod paint job on it but now we are leaning towards an old rag top or an old pickup to play with.
