Description for Ford Galaxie 1963

My brother bought this vehicle new in the Fall of 1963. He sold it to me in October. 1973 and I have been the custodian ever since (41+ years). I did have to replace both rear lower 1/4 panels behind the rear wheels shortly after I purchased the car. Most of it's life with me was in upstate New York but was never driven in bad weather and was always garaged. The engine was gone through in 1975 and is std. bore. The crank was turned . 010/. 010. The heads have the 3 angle valve job but no hardened seats. Teflon seals were used on the valves. My 1980 - 1981 winter project was a major disassembly of this car for refinishing. The body was not removed from the frame. however most everything else was. All removed sheet metal parts were stripped or sandblasted. primed. and refinished using Dupont Centari. single stage enamel. Corinthian White or Black accordingly. When reassembling. all unseen sides of panel were either greased or oiled to prevent rust. New original seat covers were installed. chrome dash pieces were re chromed. and new carpets installed. Exterior chrome pieces. excluding side moldings & engine rocker covers. were either replace with NOS or re chromed. All brake wheel cylinders. lines. and hoses were replaced and DOT 5 brake fluid was used. Later. the radiator was replaced with an aluminum unit from Crites Performance. Over the years. I have received many trophies with this car and the overall finish is still exceptional for being a 34 + year old paint job. This car has the rare Transistor Ignition option that also included an alternator (both working). nbsp;AM/FM Radio (also working). There is a very minor oil leak under the rear main area and also the rear pinion seal needs replacing but it takes several days after driving to develop a spot. Within the last 2 years. I have replaced both carbs. fuel pump. battery. carpets. heater core. shocks I continue to put money into this car to maintain it in top condition but it just sits here not being driven so I have decided it is time for somebody else to enjoy it. This vehicle is not cheap so do not contact me regarding reserve price. Deposit within 72 hours. balance of funds by wire transfer or cash at time of pickup. Buyer responsible for shipping.
