Description for Ford Fairlane 1963
Vehicle is a true survivor. brought back to life from the scrap yard. Vehicle is in fair condition. Paint is beginning to bubble in 2 locations. Passenger rear quarter panel had accident damage. had bondo repair 5 years back. Rear bumper has a ding in it and the front bumper needs to be rechromed. Interior seats have covers on them to make them presentable. original seats need work. Floor panels were patched with new carpeting installed. Original radio is missing along with antenna. Headliner was a temp put in by previous owner not original to car. Engine runs very good with new head. head gasket. lifters. rebuilt carb. spark plugs. distributor. wires and completely new exhaust system. The oil pan seal leaks about a half dollar size of oil after the car has been running for awhile. The old generator has been replaced with a more modern alternator and is now has a electronic fuel pump. The battery is 2 years old. The battery tray is rough. Car had new rear leaf springs installed along with new tail lights which were mint. Transmission needs work. Car will drive but the synchros are very tired from what I can tell. If not driven correctly the gears will grind at times. Fuel gauge does not work so I have gone off the old count your miles method. Gauge lights are turned on and off with a secondary switch. Horn does not work. As said before. the car is not a gem but has survived the test of time and is well on its way to being something special. For me it was a project car and a challenge to bring back something that was nearly sent off to the scrap yard. It is fun car to cruise around in and always brings attention to it. Many of the folks my age and younger marvel at the old 3 on the tree trans. If you are looking to tinker with something. this might be your project. Vehicle is as is/ where is. No warranty. Serious bidders only. all sales will be final. I've made every attempt to describe all the good and bad with this car. If you have questions. please feel free to message me. Buyer is responsible for shipping. driving and pick up of car. I will be as cooperative as I can to make this an easy transaction for us all. Upon winning bid. Buyer must paypal $250 to secure the car and has 7 days to submit final payment. If final payment is not received. the $250 will not be returned and will be used to pay ebay fees. Final payment must be in a certified cashiers check or cash. Again. if there is any questions. please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to answer any questions. Thank you!
