Up for your consideration is a 1965 Mustang Fastback. April built. factory GT. I have owned this car since 2001 and it has been a labor of love. When I bought this car. it was semi-restored. It was a factory Caspian Blue. with blue standard interior. factory 4 spd. I got the car home and found some stuff on the car I did not like. so I tore the car down. This is where it is. The car was not a rusty car. I had the car media blasted and did not like some of the body work that had previously been done. so I bought 2 red oxide Ford full quarters and a NOS red oxide rear valance. All the seams on the quarters were leaded back in like factory. I bought a red oxide Ford Taillight panel and 2 NOS Ford fenders. The doors on it were nice. but they had repairs on them in the corners at one time. as they all do. I did not like them. so I bought 2 rust-free doors out of California. At that point. when I had all the sheet metal work professionally done. I decided to go with the Shelby R-Model theme. I bought a Tony Branda metal frame fiberglass hood. I put '66 style functional air scoops on the quarters. I took the quarter panel air vents out and it has the R-Model style delete panels. which can easily be taken back out and factory air vents installed. No cutting was done. I do have the headlight buckets and grille support that are painted and NOS. but they are not on the car because the engine compartment is not painted yet. Under the hood. all VIN numbers are on the aprons. The battery apron has never been replaced and is original and rust-free. The radiator support is original. It has the original roof. original trunk lid. floor pans (have had a couple of patches put in them). and cowl. The cowl is in mint condition. This car has been on a rotisserie. The underneath is red oxide. The engine compartment needs to be painted (as previously stated). but it is ready. As far as the mechanicals. there is no engine or trans. no driveshaft. It does have a factory '65 HiPo 9-inch. with a 389 gear. The gear is not in it. but I do have it. The only thing I have in regards to the interior are the fiberglass interior panels and the headliner bows. No trap door. no seats. no wiring. etc. If you have any questions about what comes with the car. please e-mail me. I have new concourse outside door handles that go with it. The taillight bucket. housing and lenses are all new and concourse. The front suspension is all there. minus the sway bar. I have no steering box. There is no brake system. It does have the factory disc brakes on the front and I have a brand new set of calipers that go with it. I do have all glass except for the windshield. There is no gas tank. I also have all the weatherstrip retainers (all four pieces). Basically. what this car is is a super sweet roller body that needs to be finished. I encourage anyone to come look at it before bidding. You will NOT be disappointed. The paint was done about 4 years ago and it does show some garage wear and minor imperfections. but still looks good! This car is NOT a bondo-buggy and the ONLY after market body part on the car is the hood. The rest is genuine Ford. In the state of Georgia. all that is required is a tag receipt. So. I have a tag receipt in my name. that is currently registered. and fully insured. I do have a copy of the 2 previous titles as well as the original door tag.
