Description for Ford F-250 1976
Please. no zero-feedback bidders without contacting me prior to bidding. thank you!You are bidding on a rare last-year example of Ford's "Hi Boy" factory high-lift 4x4 F250. In '77 they dropped it by 4" and boy. what a difference. These are getting tough to find. and this one is a low-mile original example still wearing factory two-tone Yellow Orange and White paint; very good-looking and not one you see every day. Born in San Jose. she is very straight overall in appearance. with a nice grill surround and grills. high line Ranger XLT trim package. nice exterior bright work. and original. tired but still shiny Yellow Orange and White two-tone paint (MY paint code. born-with paint!). She's what you might call a 15-20 footer; paint is still shiny. but has failed in some areas (protected now by clear coat). Looks like a million bucks walking up. or driving past. Upon close examination not perfect. but no outer body rust. major dents. etc. Very straight. very attractive. The bed is original inside with no bed liner or other spray to hide anything; no rust-through. The truck has a heavy-duty rear bumper and a high quality receiver hitch for towing. The wheels are later-model Ford 17" chrome versions with almost brand-new BF Goodrich Radial Off Road T/A tires; very nice. The engine is the original 360 2v with 81K miles. and is in very sound condition. with no bottom end or lifter noise. no ring blow-by or valve seal leaks *(does not smoke at all). and strong oil pressure. I had the original carb professionally rebuilt. and it has a brand-new battery. The only thing that should still be done is to replace the power booster for the brakes; it leaks a bit and causes the brakes to be weaker (at light pedal pressure; push hard and they stop as they should) and the truck to run rougher at low engine RPM's. vacuum leak. in short. Once under acceleration. it's not noticed. and the engine runs smoothly. I can perform the repair for you prior to shipping for $300. 00 if you wish. The exhaust pipes are old and should be replaced; that said. the truck sounds really good. no manifold leaks. and no blown out mufflers. just ready for a new system. This is a very strong and sound low mile engine. The transfer case shifts smoothly between low and high range. I just had the front driveline remanufactured. including new U-joints and bolts. The truck features locking hubs to engage or dis-engage the full-time 4x4. The transmission is strong and operates as it should. Power steering. power brakes. The brakes still work fine. but because of the failing booster. they require more pedal pressure than otherwise needed. This truck came loaded. including A/C; the compressor is still mounted. lines still connected. but the belt has been removed at some point in the past. and remains so. Compressor seems to turn freely. so a recharge and belt should get cool again if needed. Removing the belt was something commonly done back then to increase gas milage. The interior is also original; the gauge cluster is nice. and the gauges all seem to work. Lights. turn signals. brake lights. wipers. etc. in working order. No radio present (removed at some time). and the ash tray is missing its' slider brackets (double-sided emblem tape retains it in its' closed position). Seat upholstery is original and shows some wear and tear. dash pad not perfect. door panels original and decent to good. not perfect. Carpet was removed. and there is some rust on the floors. repairable of course. and they are solid; you won't break through and do the Flintstone flop. The truck has an over-the-hump one-piece floor mat *(Original?) that covers up the rust. and you could choose to do nothing in that department and be fine. The glass is all good. and the window regulators roll up and down smoothly. This is a great-looking. rare. vintage factory Hi Boy that turns heads every time I take her out. Clear title in hand. VIN matches the title exactly for inspection. export. etc. You may call me directly at 360-936-9257 with any questions you may have. Please be prepared to remit payment within 3 days of auction's end via major bank cashier's check (must wait for check to physically clear issuing bank prior to mailing title or shipping truck). deposit into my Bank of America account. or bank-to-bank wire transfer. Shipping is the full responsibility of the buyer; I will make myself and the vehicle available for loading on short notice. While every effort is being made to describe the truck as accurately as possible. it is in fact almost 40 years old. and therefore being sold as-is. without warranty or guarantee expressed. written. or implied. This is a really special truck sure to make a Ford enthusiast VERY happy. Remember. I can replace the power brake booster for you for $300. 00 parts and labor prior to shipping if you wish.
