Description for Ford Ranchero 1961
For auction is my '61 Ranchero. 170cid ST6 . speed manual. Odometer shows less than 30k. I would assume it has turned over. The PA title. that is in my name lists the mileage as "exempt". True California car. with documentation. COMPLETED REPAIRS : moved the column shift to the floor and removed shift-arm from column. new turn signal switch and wiring harness in column. added buckets and console. painted the interior. new custom door panels. new arm rests. new carpet. new headliner door seals and felt. new front and rear windshield seals. new brakes. rebuilt front suspension. rebuilt battery tray. new battery cables. all new tires and shocks. new brake lines. new radiator and hoses. new fuel pump. flushed fuel tank. new fuel sending unit(fuel gauge does not work). front springs lowered 2". rear has 3" lowering blocks. THE BODY: Had some dents. but almost rust free. except where the mice made nests. Has some mild custom touches to the body. Filled the tailgate. Removed the bumpers. removed and filled all the emblem. The car was built as a driver. it has a new "low dollar" paint job in the Original color. There was some minor body work done. that should have been finished better before it got sprayed. Same old story. thought the guy was doing me a favor. But in the end you get what you pay for. There are a few small dents. one on the roof one at the rear corner of the hood. and a few very small ones. there is a chip in the paint on the rear roll pan. The drivers door hing pin is missing which caused a dent and chip in the door. The rear right quarter shows some course sanding scratches and a small hole in the skim coat of body filler. The vintage aftermarket fender skirts where painted on the car. so when removed you can see a somewhat unfinished lip in the wheel well. The intention there was to use a small beaded welting. The skirts in general were not a perfect fit. But look good when on the car. There are two taillight access panels which did not get painted with the car. The paint is a little thin on the corners of the recessed license plate tray. There was a few small holes in the floor pan that were ground. treated and fiber glassed. and coated with some seam sealer. The car runs and drives well. It is currently out of inspection. The Engine does blow some smoke on start-up. The original air cleaner is included(forgot to put it on before the photos). Yes. it drips. Both the motor and tranny have very small drips. A couple of things that I did not get to are: the exhaust. a front end alignment. (neither of which are terrible). The carburetor could use a rebuild at some point. The driver's seat has a few small holes in it. The car shows very well. but is NOT a" Show Car" and would be a great low cost COOL ride. It is a head turner. and gets plenty of attention. I've only had it a couple of years and really haven't driven much. Hate to see it go. but need to raise some cash. There are a lot of photos and if you need more just ask. I would prefer you come by and inspect the car before bidding. It would be best for both parties. You can call or text me at 610-226-5734. Mark*Car is also for sale locally. I reserve the right to stop the auction if it sells locally. On Mar-18-15 at 16:52:32 PDT. seller added the following information:The taillights are '60 Buick. The reserve is $7. 00. 00. Have 11k into it plus countless hours.
