Power Steering SELLER REMARKS 1940 Fords are always popular but they're seldom as good looking as this bright red coupe. With a small block Chevy V8. a nicely finished interior. and plenty of charisma. this might be your first. last. and only opportunity to get the '40 you've always wanted. Business coupes turned hot rods are great because they present the perfect attitude. They try to pretend to be practical with a large trunk. but it is only a matter of time before they reveal the beast within. If you were thinking about running moonshine in this one. think again. The extended trunks of these cars were a favorite of liquor-running outlaws. but in this case. the once inconspicuous styling is now long gone. The bright paintwork and the shine gleaming from the Foose Torq Thrust wheels will never slip away unnoticed. Just because this coupe's wild appearance announces its presence from miles away doesn't mean it misses out on some cool up-close details like the pinstriping on the hood and trunk. This was the last year for this generation of Ford coupes. By 1941. they would carry a softer design language with a more rounded front end and less pronounced fenders. So this aggressively sharp-nosed coupe has always been the perfect one to get the hot rod treatment. In fact. the demand is high enough for these coupes that there are re-creations out there for this model year. So we are happy to say this an original steel body. 1940 that received the restoration and upgrades. This speedy image is heightened by the forward leaning suspension. and while combining the custom passenger compartment. it makes this one look like it is just itching to sprint. even when standing still. Inside it feels like no expense was spared to give this businessman's coupe modern convenience. Gray cloth covers nearly everything. from the door panels. to the carpeting. to the trunk with an included spare. The material quality feels good. and a coordinated slanted line pattern echoes the chevrons of the taillights. The single bench seat up front was upgraded to two buckets. but those who need a kind of drive-in closeness to the passenger can utilize rear bench (a rarity in business coupes). On the dash. gauges have been swapped to a modern custom set. and an AM/FM/CD stereo has been added. The air conditioning and heater/defrost unit is integrated into the console for a cleaner appearance. The gray leather custom steering wheel adds a nice touch of chrome. as well as a comfortable grip for the power steering. This is a genuine hot rod. so the original flathead V8 has been swapped for a more powerful 327 cubic-inch unit. It has all the right flair. like chrome valve covers and air cleaner. as well as dual exhaust to make all the right noises. The motor is mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission. and power goes to the ground via the aforementioned Chip Foose wheels. Beyond this coupe's skill to stir the senses like a good hot rod should. there have also been upgrades for everyday usability. The heavy-duty radiator. Delco Remy distributor. and alternator are all designed to handle a much more modern workload than when this car left the factory 75 years ago. Also. when it all needs to come to a halt. there are upgraded power brakes with discs in the front to help keep you safe. This is a car that could have been a moonshiner but survived to be a creature-comfort hot rod. Your own legend begins here. We know these cars don't last under our showroom lights long. call today!! 1940 Ford Business Coupe for Sale 1940 Ford Business Coupe for Sale Stock # 2945-CHA Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte.
