Description for Ford F-250 1972
1972 Ford Ranger F-250 XLT Camper Special I purchased this truck in 2009 - since then I've put less than 1. 00 miles on it - it has been stored in a heated and insulated garage and seen only fair weather. It is extremely rare to find an original vintage truck in this condition with such low mileage - a classic vehicle can be original only once - this one can be driven every day anywhere. any distance and do it without any issues - it is a beautifully presented survivor ready for the next collector to enjoy - I'm the 3rd owner - and only selling because life dictates that my toys must go due to fatherly responsibilities. The previous owner bought the truck from his high school girl-friend's father. he had always coveted the truck - it was used once a year to drive up into the mountains around Salt Lake City and camp. it had a camper installed in the bed for many years - it was used only for that purpose from 1972 until 1993 - in 21 years the truck had been driven approximately 31. 00 miles. This is what the 2nd owner had to say about the truck when I purchased it:"This truck is very clean and un-restored. I purchased the truck form the original owner 5 years ago (2004) and at that time the truck had just over 31k miles on it and hadn’t been driven since 1993. When I purchased the truck the engine was stock. I installed the new cam. lifters. true-roller timing set. intake. 4-bbl. headers and new exhaust. The upgrades greatly improved the trucks performance and overall drivability. It has had the hood repainted (original paint faded) and has had the passenger door repaired. There are a few places that have had very minor paint touch up work. all done by the original owner. It is rust free. drives and runs exceptionally well; it is completely road ready down to the brand new CenterLine Forged aluminum wheels and Kumho Tires that have less than 1. 00 miles on them. All of the belts. hoses and ignition parts are Motorcraft including the oil filter. When I purchased this truck 5 years ago it still retained the factory installed spark plug wires. All four original shocks were replaced in 2008. The truck has a unique non-factory spare tire lift system that was built by the original owner. It also has a non-factory coolant recovery system. transmission cooler. Class 5 trailer hitch and a 7-pin connector. The truck is loaded with options and was a special order truck that was originally delivered and sold in Salt Lake City. Utah. Options include the three tone paint. 390 V-8. auto trans. 4. 10 gears and tinted windows (all original glass). It has power steering and power front disc brakes. It has the popular Camper Special package. sliding rear window. bed storage box. HD cooling and charging system. It is equipped with the optional auxiliary frame mounted gas tank (total gas capacity of both tanks is close to 50 gallons) and the heaviest GVW rating available of 8100 pounds. The truck with ¾ of a tank of gas weighs 4980 pounds giving it a load capacity of 3120 pounds. It was ordered with the XLT package and the interior is 100% original and untouched down to the AM radio. With the 3-tone Sequoia Brown Metallic/Wimbledon White paint combination. black interior and the XLT trim level package I feel this is one of the if not the nicest looking trucks offered by Ford in 1972. I have a stack of invoices and the original title that has always been lien and signature free since the original purchaser paid cash for the truck - all documentation will convey to the new owner. The truck is un-restored and now 43 years old so it’s not perfect but it is without a doubt a very very nice truck. An opportunity to own such a piece of history is very rare.
