Description for Ford Bronco 1968
For your consideration here's a recently painted black 1968 Ford Bronco with the original white hardtop in very nice condition.....starts right up and runs like a top! I looked long and hard for this beauty. I wanted a relatively original Bronco with the legendary 289..... one that had stood the test of time rather than a frame-off-restoration vehicle which generally (not always) has a replaced tub or panels or floors or engine etc etc (i.e. a resurrected rust bucket w/blown engine). This Bronco is all metal (my painter confirmed this) with uncut front fenders and has the kind of slight customized touches which really make it stand out and provide a sweet ride. The previous owner poured a lot of time and money into the Bronco..... he added 5 Wild Spirit TXR 31x10.5R15 tires (about 90% tread remains) a rear PreRunner bumper w/tire gas can & cooler rack (an $1100 option)Electroluminescent instrument panel IPF x4 headlight kit Painless 23 circuit wiring (complete rewire) Shorty Ceramic headers w/enhancer kit Pertronix Flame Thrower spark plug cables new exhausts flip forward wiper arms back & side window seals new battery new Warn locking hubs new heater fan motor new E brake cables black vinyl complete floor covering ("Rhinolining") Holley 4bbl carb diamond plating accents an undercarriage protection coating and aGrant GT steering wheel* (wooden ring presently covered with black vinyl wheel cover due to Arizona heat). In addition he rebuilt the transfer case and the 3 speed transmission. *Note: Because the Grant GT steering wheel is aftermarket you have to cancel the turn signal manually and the chrome horn button islocated directly below the ignition bezel.I've owned the Bronco for about 1 1/2 years and driven it approximately 1300 miles.... would have kept it forever but my oldest dog had a long battle with Valley Fever and suddenly couldn't jump into the back anymore. Not anticipating my Collie would lose the spring in his step I poured around $15000 into this '68 Bronco with great bones. Since buying it the Bronco has always been professionally worked on by Joe at Milex Auto Service in Tucson AZ. Several years ago Joe finished 1st out of around 360000 mechanics in a nationwide contest so the Bronco couldn't have been in better hands. The eye-catching black paint job (the original color was red) was done by Affordable Auto Painting in Tucson AZ. Most parts were purchased at Toms Bronco Partsandit has always been garaged. That said the following work has been done since I owned the Bronco:Front & rear wheel cylinders replaced.... front & rear brake hoses & lines replaced.... front axle seals replaced.... new muffler.... new water pump.... new timing chain cover & gears.... new reserve gas tank sensor installed.... 6x9 3-way Kenwood speakers w/boxes and JVC CD/FM receiver installed (new antenna too).... new starter & ignition switch.... new aluminum high efficiency radiator installed... alternator replaced.... new Cipher Racing Seats installed (rear bench seat is original).... new carpet kit installed.... new locking console w/cup holders installed.... nerf side bars added.... newliftgate handle & keys.... shifter T-style transfer case (w/knob shift rod & cross bar) installed.... new duo Maxi Sound horns.... heater hoses replaced.... passenger door latch/lock replaced.... recent paint job (stripped down to metal and done right..... fortunately there was very little surface rust present & no dings). In addition most hoses and gaskets have been replaced (any leaks stopped) along with a bunch of regular maintenance (3000 miles until next oil change is required). The Bronco comes with 2 sets of ignition door and console keys (only have 1 rear door hardtop key).... all locks work. The white hardtop is original and in good condition (a TBP replacement would cost $2495 + $449 windows + cost of seals lift gate internals & latch). Both gas tanks are full. In the last picture you'll see some bonus items including a bikini top the original 1968 Bronco Owner's Manual a 1968 Ford Truck Factory OEM Shop Manual on CD 2 bound service manual volumes front and back TBP (Toms Bronco Parts) floor mats and a boxcontaining 2 pairs of spot lights and other parts. Most receipts are included with the sale although I can't locate several including the Affordable Auto Painting receipt (approx. $2000).So that's it...... don't wanna sell but my dog made me do it. This is a great example of an early 289 Bronco (the best stock engine imo). It's definitely not the product of extreme plastic surgery like many on this thread just a slight nip & tuck. Mostly original (oh yeah that pesky console shifter is gone in favor of a sturdyfloor shifter) extremely dependable (4-wheel drive is fully operational) very peppy (the original 289 kicks it) and turns heads wherever it goes (be prepared for a plethora of "Wows!"). If you're the fortunate auction winner this Bronco will bring a smile to your face every time you climb into the saddle.Okay now for the small print on this Bronco the winning bidder must provide a non-refundable deposit of $500 via Paypal upon completion of this auction.
