Description for Ford F-150 1985
This truck had been parked for almost 15 years when I found it and I bought it to make adaily driver for myself. It turned out to be a dream truck for my mechanic and a money pit for me. Now I am trying to get some of my money back. Itwas an inheritance to the daughter of the original owner and shows 62643 miles on the odometer. I can't guarantee that those miles are actual but I believe them to be. Unfortunately for me this is one of the first Ford's to be fuel injected and 15 years of inactivity is hard on fuel injection systems. My mechanic replaced all 3 of the fuel pumps replaced the fuel injectors the fuel filters the ECM computer and the TPS sensor - and it still wouldnot run correctly. I was able to drive it about 10 miles before it died and now I cannot start it. I am through spending money. I currently have invested $2850.00 in this Ford and it sets quietly in my pasture. The 302 C.I.D motor sounded good and did not smoke or knock when my mechanic and I drove it. It held good oil pressure and did not overheat. The transmission is a three speed automatic with overdrive and it shifted smoothly. I have replaced the battery and changed the oil filter and anti-freeze. The tires have good thread but they have flat spots from setting so long. The headliner is torn and the seat covers are original and need replacing. Some of the plastic interior trim piecesare deteriorated andneedto bereplaced. There is a horizontal crack in the windshield. However there aremany things about the Ford that makes it desirable and worthy of restoration. The body is straight with the exception of a fewminor dents and because it has spent its entire life in dry west Texas the body is completely rust free. It has a bed liner and the bed is good. The glass is good with manual windows. The radio works well. Factory equipment includes a Factory A/C that does not work cruise control power steering and power brakes. There is a lot of potential in this desirable Short Bed Ford Explorer XL Pick-up so I am going to start the auction at my minimum selling price of $2400.00 with no reserveand hopefor the best. For specific information or pictures please call Dwain at 325/656-8154 or e-mail me at: morfenco@wcc.net. I have a clear clean Texas Title in my name in hand. Iwill negotiate delivery of thistruck anywhere in the Continental United States if the Buyer desires. The Ford is located in San Angelo Texas and I invite your inspection.I have receipts for all work that has been done andmy mechanic will confirm my description of the truck. I have this truck advertised locally and reserve the right to cancel this auction early. The hard expensive work is done and there can't be thatmany more parts to replace that have not been replaced. I don't know why the Ford won't run.
