Description for Ford Other 1932
Where to start?.......... I'm putting my 32 Ford Roadster up for sale. Let's go back to the beginning. I bought this car from the builder at the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona Beach in 2005. It was brand new with 250 miles on it. I have owned it ever since and it now has 8571 miles on it. My wife and I put 'em all on it. In all this time I've had no trouble with this car except I had to replace the sending unit for the gas gauge and I have replaced the battery and I have replaced the carpet. I bought the car pretty much as it is. I did add a few things. I added some electronic "Quick Time" exhaust cutouts (awesome) and I added a Secret Audio SS Sound System 140 watts am/fm with a 10CD changer which is remote operated and has 8 speakers. There are some things about the car that I don't know because I was so excited when I bought it I forgot to ask. I did stay in touch with the builder for awhile but he retired sold out and hit the road. But what I do know is this: the fiberglass body and the frame came from "Show Me of Missouri". It has a Hagan steel hood and side panels a Walker radiator and Sanderson JetHot coated headers. It has a TCI independent front suspension and 4 wheel disc brakes. The engine was a brand new Ford Racing crate motor 302ci 340 hp. The engine has a 650 cfm Edelbrock carb. The transmission is a T5 5-speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter and a hydraulic clutch. The rear end is an 8.8 Ford unit with coil over shocks and a 3.73 posi rear end. The dashboard is a 1940 Ford dash cut down to fit the 32 body. It retains the 1940 style gauge cluster with Dolphin gauges the operational radio speaker opening and grill and an opening glove box. The steering wheel is a reproduction 1940 Ford steering wheel. The steering column came from a 1978 van of some kind chosen because it was a tilt column without a shifter. The wheels are Boyd Coddington smoothie I wheels with BFG 9 Force T/A tires 225/45ZR18 front and 295/45R20 rear. The bench seat is adjustable (slides forward and back) and covered with red/black leather along with the door panels. The moon tank in the front is fake the real tank is under the trunk in the rear and it's a 25 gallon tank or maybe 20 (can't remember). It's a normal steel tank and not a fuel cell. The battery and the Cd changer and the stereo is in a hidden panel reached through the trunk. There is also storage behind the seat back (which is hinged) but not a lot. I keep some polish and towels and small things there. It has LED tailights. I have had it in a few shows and it always wins first place but I don't show it much. It's never been in a magazine. I would like to say I've driven it a lot but 850 miles a year in ten years is not really a lot. The longest trip I ever made in it was about 150 miles and other than the fact that it was nearly 100 degrees and sunny it was a fun trip. The car is a true roadster just what I wanted - no top no windows no fenders. Yes we have been caught in the rain a few times. We laugh about it now but it's about the same as being caught in the rain on a motorcycle - you get real wet and then you have a big clean up job. Yes the car has been great fun and I have enjoyed it tremendously over the past 10 years. Even seeing it sitting in the garage everyday made me smile. Selling it will not be a happy day at my house but life goes on things happen and sometimes you have to move on. I have never regretted buying this car but I'm pretty sure I'll regret selling it. Que Sera Sera. So maybe it's your turn to have some big fun. And trust me big fun it'll be. With the seat that goes back and the tilt wheel the car is plenty roomy for most folks. I'm 6'0 and over 200 lbs and I have no problem fitting in and driving anywhere I want to. The car needs nothing. It has always has all synthetic fluids and I've changed the oil once a year (whether it needed it or not-LOL). This car has a 1932 Ford VIN number and is titled as a 1932 Ford. Although the listing specifies that transport is the responsibility of the buyer I do have an enclosed trailer and it's possible that I may be able to deliver the car. Of course that depends on many things but it is possible.
