Description for Ford Mustang 1966

Like a lot of popular classic cars the early Mustangs are seeing consistent upticks in their values year after year. With many early 6 cylinder equipped pony cars having V8 transplants these days this inline 6 powered 1966 Ford Mustang is becoming a harder find and is a smart buy.

Wimbledon White was the factory sprayed color on this coupe and it's a popular color among enthusiasts. It looks great on the handsome bodywork and this one steadily shows sharp and smooth reflections. If you've been searching for a Mustang to drive it's got the right look and a no-worries attitude and you could drive it anywhere even in the rain. In fact a cowl cover has been installed to keep water and debris from entering the cowl. It hasn't been covered in stripes or fake badges and it keeps an honest entry-level look. The chrome and other bright pieces like the sporty bullet mirrors are in good shape and a subtle blue pin stripe has been laid down in vinyl for a complementary touch.

The white and blue vinyl interior creates a charming environment with relatively recent covers on the low-back bucket seats. The three-spoke wood-trimmed steering wheel is standard issue and is a nice touch to the cabin. Rubber original equipment floor mats keep the blue carpets in good shape while a manual shifter is perched in front of a comfortable removable center console. A vintage AM/FM radio lives in the dash but it's just for originality since a Sony AM/FM/CD stereo has been installed inconspicuously underneath. Door panels headliner and dash pad are all in fine condition it's an interior that has obviously been sorted and freshened fairly recently.

This coupe came from the factory with a 200 cubic inch inline-six which really was the heart of the Mustang lineup for the early years. It's probable that this one is the original engine and it's nice to see that it hasn't been "upgraded" to a V8 because the Sprint 200 is a fun engine in its own right. The ford blue paint is a pleasing touch to the little engine and it still exhales into a single exhaust system with transverse muffler. The 3-speed manual transmission makes sure it has plenty of punch around town but cruises happily at modern highway speeds. 14-inch steel wheels with classic Mustang hubcaps wear recent 195/75/14 whitewall radials.

The Mustang still represents a lot of affordable fun so if you're looking for and affordable yet popular way into the hobby or just a great driver this handsome little coupe is an excellent choice. It's an honest six cylinder car that is unfortunately becoming harder and harder to find. Call today!
