Here is a 1953 Ford Country Sedan Wagon that has always been in Tennessee and was bought new there. Was owned by same family until this year. It has the Flathead V8 that runs good. 1953 was the last year for the Flathead V8 as in 1954 Ford went to the overhead valve engine. This wagon has the original automatic transmission that shifts out good. It's a Ford O Matic 2 speed transmission. According to the original owners it only has 41000 original miles but I can't prove that. This wagon has had 1 repaint many years ago to the yellowish color it is now. ( This is not the original color I was told ). The interior is said to be original and is in excellent condition. The seats carpet headliner and door panels all look really good. It has 3 seats so plenty of room for the family. The back window raises up and the tailgate lets down. The body is pretty solid but does have some rust on bottoms of both front fenders bottom of both doors and some on bottom of both rear fenders. There is a dent on the back of drivers fender by the rear bumper. ( See Pic )The front floor pans had rust and was covered over with fiberglass from the inside of the car. Looks pretty good now but wanted to mention. By no means is this a rust free car but it's not a rust bucket either. The grill is original and shows it's wear more so than the bumpers. It's what I call a Survivor. Overall in good condition and can be driven and enjoyed as is or fixed up to be really nice. You don't see many of these Ford wagons much anymore.
