You read the title right 700 miles. 748 to be exact. Yes it is real. To the true die hard Geo Metro believers no you do not have to own a Deloren with a Flux Capacitor (A Time Machine) to be able tobuy a brand new Metro because NOW here it is.As anyone knows you cannot purchase anything nowthat will achieve the fuel mileage on the market today for the value and price.

I had to list the car as a 1980when I tried to post the vin it wouldn't accept itand let me finish posting. The car is a 1994. Sorry for the confusion.

Lets walk throughthe extensive paper trail on how this amazing anomily came to be. The story of thelittle car began when hewas he was built 7-94

A gentleman went to his local Chevrolet/GEO dealership on 8-17-94 to purchase a new Metro. He was very specific in what he wanted. He was making the purchase wife. Theright vehicle for himwas not on the lot and had to be located. A contract was written up.

Brilliant Red Metallic, Speed Manual Trans, nbsp;Air Conditioning part of thePreferred EquipmentPackage, M-FM Stereo Cassette, ear Window Defogger, ront and rear Floor Mats,Total Factory Options $1391.00

The vehicle being located and delivered thedeal was made on 8-24. Total cash price $10064.86. He purchased Theft guardan extended warantee and a vehicle protection package. The delivered vehicle mileage was 18 miles.

On 9-1 He had a Protector Brand vehicle alarm installed Cost $168.01.

On 9-12 he went to the Chevrolet dealer and purchased a front cover package. Cost $81.89

On 9-22 he went to Tire America and purchased Custom ARE 13"X 5.5wheels (now long obsolete)and White Lettered tires and chrome lug nuts. Cost $645.21

On 10-10 He went back to the Chevrolet dealer and purchased a front and rear mud flap kit. Cost $95.93

Shortly after The gentalman's wife asks for the divorce. Heartbroken the Metro is put in climate controlled storage

I have a reciept from Tire America dated 6-19-95 as there was an issue with the tires purchased 0n 9-22-94. The adjustment was made andpremimum BF Goodrich T/A tires were installed and are the same tires on it now. The mileage for in service on that date was 707 miles.

Here it sits today42 miles later 8-20-2015! It is as new and without a doubt is the lowest mileage surviving Metro. Itstarts and runs excellent as it should. There is NO NO NO rust anywhere. It still wears its original license plates that are in place thatexpired 12-94. NON SMOKER. The A/C Blows ICE cold and the car smells as NEW!

I have a pile of paperwork documenting the vehicle. It includes the window sticker, ll purchace documents and loan paperwork insurance and all reciepts. An interesting item foundis a letter that was sent to the original owner. It explainsa Get to know Geo Treeprogram. For purchasing a new Metro a tree was planted in honor of the purchaser of the new Metro. There is a decal that is unused and to be placed on the vehicle. The climate storage alone was over $21,000.

The MPG Rating on the window sticker states 46 City-49 Highway. Metro owners tipically report upwards of 60 MPG. The Metro is proven reliable and can easily get 300K miles with minimal maintenance. NO HYBRID BATTERIES TO EVER REPLACE. It is also noted that the engine is a non interfering valve engine. Break a timing belt. Install a new one and keep rolling.VWRabbit Diesels as well as the TDI engines will bend the valves. The timing belt/waterpump change at the VW dealer on a TDIis $1100. The Metro is trulely one of a kind for economy. On the highway you can cruise 70 mph and the little 1.0 is smooth and quiet. I have owned VW Rabbit diesels and the economy may be a bit better but the vibration, attling and no power combinedwith always working on it. Did I mention never be in a hurry with aRabbit? The Metro is still theKing.
