Description for GMC Jimmy 19820000
Up for bid is a 1982 GMC Jimmy Sierra Classic with a 6.2 liter Diesel engine. It was donated to the AACA Museum in 2011 in NON-RUNNING conditionand has beenhere since. It is being sold NO RESERVE. It would make a perfect basis for a mudder or other off-roader project! Or, et it running and add a plow for your 'back forty'.
ENGINE:The vehicle is NOTRUNNING and at the very least needs both batteries, starter and a positive cable (missing). At some time someone had removed the starter and cut the cable. Wecannot guarantee that the engine will run once a starter is put on so the buyerneeds tobe aware of that. The engine and its componentsappear to be all there. Weattempted to move the vehicle and it would not roll as it felt like the 4wd was binding, ven after attempting the shift the transfer case into Neutral.. The drive shafts were then disconnected so it could roll freely. The driveshafts are inside the vehicle and will be included in the sale.
INTERIOR: The interior is missing the passenger side front bucket seat. Someone had also covered the carpet with a thick plastic mat in spots. The dash has a faded carpet cover and the door panels are in fair shape. It is loaded with accessory switches, ap lights etc. We have no idea if they work or what they operate.
EXTERIOR: The paint is faded and surface rust is coming through in some spots. Also the body has a fair amount of rust. The doors and rocker panels are rusted through and the inner fenders are also rusted as shown in the pictures, he floors also have rust.
CHASSIS: The frame appears solid andby the stance of the truck, ual front shocksand the oversize 36" tires; it looks like it is lifted.
As this is a non-running, on-driving vehicle, e encourage any bidder to view it in person prior to bidding. Included in thesale are any and all bees, asps, ornets and their nests!
The vehicle is being sold in AS / IS condition and can either be used for parts or restored. Payment of cash or check is accepted but please remember that if paying by check the vehicle WILL remain here until the check clears and that could possibly take up to 20 days to clear. If you have any questions or would like to see the vehicle please ask. The AACA Museum is open seven days a week from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
