1949 GMC 100
I have more projects than I can handle, o I am letting some of my cars go to make room in the shop. This is a unique GMC. A previous owner subframed what looks to be a 70's Camaro clip and drive train under this. And also added skillfully crafted aluminum diamond plate bed, unning boards, ail gate and bumpers. The diamond plate is very well done, nd will likely last forever. It does make this one of a kind.
I have driven this quite a bit since 2013, he only thing I have done to it is add a heavy duty 4-core radiator, lectric fan, acing style gas tank and new fuel lines in the bed. I probably saved the previous owners life buying it, nbsp;someone used standard rubber lines from a home made gas tank to the fuel pump and they gave way while I was driving it the 2nd day I owned it, ausing a big mess and probably a risky hazard. After that, did it up right with a fuel cell and shielded fuel lines.
Looks like this would be a good setup for a drag racing truck. I bet the whole suspension, ngine, ransmission and rear end came out of the same car. Front disk, ear drum brakes. Engine runs good with lots of power. The 1st-to-2nd shift will send the rear with those wide tires sideways if you really are in it. The rear is a link/coil over suspension, ith a pretty narrow rear end. Bed is tubbed mildly and has room for a lot more tire in the rear. Currently it has 295/50R15's in the back, nd I estimate there is room for 2-4" wider tires to fit in the rear. Up front are 205/70R14's. I was going to try to fit 315's in the back with new wheels, ut never got there. The wheels are not the greatest, ave corrosion and over-spray. I wish I had found it a week before, he previous owner painted it the day before I saw it. It is decent paint, ut there is over spray on a few areas, nd you can see sanding marks under the paint in a few spots if you really look hard. Nothing major, t is not show quality but it is perfect to drive and enjoy as you can see in the photos. Cab corners are good. Not really any rust areas that I noticed. Underside is surface rust, have a box of POR15 like product that I was going to use on it, will also include with this truck.
To finish this truck off, ou may want to finish up the interior, nbsp;I have matching pleated door panels in white that are not installed yet. Needs to have the stock gauges rebuilt or new ones installed. I will include a box of old gauges for you to play with. Transmission does dip/leak a little, nbsp;I have never had the time to investigate if it is a hose or pan gasket. Automatic shifter is on the steering column, nd is finicky going from park to drive, ou really have to count the clicks because it goes through them so easily. The whole steering column was something I was going to replace in the future, t is functional, ut a billet one would be better. I am just stating that to be honest at what you will find and may want to fix. Recent new battery, nbsp;radiator, uel system. Starts easy, nbsp;sounds amazing, nbsp;drives very comfortably, tops great. This could easily be made into the perfect driver.
Clean Arizona title. Winning bidder to pay $500 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit, nd have 7 days from end of auction to pay balance by cash or certified bank check. When funds clear the bank, will overnight mail you the signed title and paperwork. I can hold the truck for a few weeks for pickup or transport. Check out my 100% feedback here since 1999.
