Description for GMC Sierra 1500 1984
Selling my 1984 GMC C15 pickup, which is an equivalent of a Chevy C10. We all love this truck (especially my kids), but I'm wanting to sell it so I can start dumping money into my 1962 Chevy pickup. I don't have room for both!I listed the mileage at 100,000, but I really don't know how many is on the original truck. The odometer didn't work when I purchased it. It now has a new speedometer / odometer, so a person can tell how many miles the new engine has on it.
A lot of work has been done to it, and here is the list:
-First off, clean Washington title in-hand.
-Rebuilt 350 with less than 2,000 miles on it -- with no leaks.
-Rebuilt Turbo 700 transmission with less than 2,000 miles on it -- with no leaks.
-Headers with new exhaust --- and it sounds great.
-Fuel injected throttle body upgrade.
-New front inner fenders / wheel wells.
-Billet grille with chrome front bumper.
-When I purchased it, it was lowered about 6" and it was too low. The inner fenders were removed and the heater box was cut off at the fire wall. Also, it rubbed when turning sharp or going up into a parking lot. I had it professionally lifted back up 2.5" so the inner fenders could be put in and the heater working again (by Mad Max Customs)It doesn't rub any longer and still looks great!
-New shocks.
-New springs and drop spindles on the front.
-New brakes.
-Frame lowering kit in rear.
-245 / 45Z R20 x 99 wide wheels / tires in the front.
-275 / 40 R20 x 106 wide wheels / tires in the rear.
-Chrome Ridler 20" wheels.
-Both fuel tanks are new (and full of gas), along with all of the lines, filters, etc.
-New windshield put in about two weeks ago, along with new wipers.
-Tinted windows new about two weeks ago -- with warranty.
-Really, the only rust was in the flat of the bed, and I had it professionally cut out and patched (Mad Max Customs)
-Bullet lifetime spray-in bed liner.
-Power steering.
-Power locks with new switches.
-Power windows with new switches.
-New dash cover along with new vents (old ones were broken out).
-After-market steering wheel and rear view.
-Newer carpet with new Husky Liner fitted floor mats.
-Recently recovered seat and head liner.
-Pioneer CD player with Bluetooth.
-New speakers all the way around -- (2) in front and (2) in back, behind seat in the corners.
-Amplifier runs all speakers.
-Wired for second amp and subwoofer.
-Brand new speedometer / odometer. I just put this in because the odometer wasn't working and I thought it would be good to know the mileage on the new motor. Note that it's off on MPH due to the larger wheels. 0-45 is about 5 MPH lower than actual and 45+ is about 10 MPH lower.
-New gas gauge.
-Wired in new tachometer into the "empty hole" on the cluster.-Fresh transmission service, which was done after about 1,000 miles on rebuild. (After it broke in, I wanted to flush it out again.) It also has a fresh oil change for the same reason.
The bezel is taken off in the pictures because I'm waiting for the new clear plastic that I ordered. Also, I was debating on replacing the bezel. I just ordered one on Ebay, but it was the wrong one. The original is still OK, and can easily be put back on once the new plastic arrives. New clear plastic is included in the sale -- and the bezel that's currently removed, of course.
Some extra parts also comes with it, such as:
-New washer fluid reservoir and hoses.
-New passenger door lock actuator. (I thought I needed a new one, but it was just the switch.)
-New fabric dash cover.
-New chrome wheel well trim.
-New door weather strip for both doors.
-New blinker / wiper switch / lever.
The only things that don't work is the A/C (which I removed), washer fluid (all parts are with it to put back together, but I don't drive it in the rain), and the cruise control.
If I was going to keep the truck, here are some of the things I would do. Also, these are things you need to be made aware of:
-Eventually new paint. NOTE, the paint is not perfect. It looks good in the pictures, but there are flaws. It's an older re-paint, but the flaws are a scratch that may buff out on the hood, atiny ding that's behind the driver / front wheel well (which you can't notice unless you're looking for it), and on the tailgate, below the chrome trim / GMC emblem, it's dull black paint (which you can't notice unless you're right up next to it and looking). Besides that, just normalsmallnicks and dings, which is to be expected for this age of truck. It stilllooks way cool and shines up nice!
-Once the motor is more broken in, a fresh tune-up.-The original glass is on the side-view mirrors. I'd replace those too.
-Probably remove the rear bumper and do a roll-pan.
-Fitted spark plug wires when the next tune-up is done, to keep it cleaner looking.
