Description for GMC Vandura 1990
1990 GMC VANDURAoverall great shape, runs great, drives great, lots of cool interior features
that said, it's a 25 year old vehicle with some cosmetic flaws, so I will list plenty of details below
Van has had same owner for the last 12 years, well maintained, daily driver, maintained by same mechanic for about the last 10 years, with some notice can put prospective buyer in touch with mechanic for any detailed questions about mechanical history. Transmission was rebuilt around 5 years ago, tires are new in the last year (front and rear replaced about six months apart). Just had an oil change, and A/C system repaired with a new blower motor and switch.Van has been in either Texas or Georgia since new, so no rust on body or frame from roads treated for snow
All interior and exterior lights, and power doors and windows, and windshield wipers are working. Wiper fluid bottle is missing lid or would work.Cruise control works great.
BODY is in good shape except for crushed front left corner from a fender bender, the only accident in 12 years.Definitely needs a paint job - dark blue upper layer has been touched up occasionally over the last several years with a rustoleum metallic blue that matches the original color pretty well. Depending on who you ask it either looks better than you'd think or exactly how you would expect it to, but either way it keeps the older paint from flaking away. Left rear door is color mismatched, replacement for the original which was dented when the van was purchased.
Interior is in worn shape, not bad for 25 year old upholstery but has wear in various places, especially noticeable on door panels. That said, interior is pretty awesome. Driver and passenger seats are captain's chairs with adjustable armrests, and there is wood trim all over the cabin.
The interior is a custom conversion but van still has the original roof, not the tacky plastic add-on.The back cabin has two captain's chairs that swivel, a couch which folds down into a small bed, and a cocktail table that can be placed in front or back section of the rear cabin; all of these are easily removable to haul larger loads when needed. Upholstery on the rear seats/couch is in great shape, driver and passenger seats are somewhat worn.
There are mood lights around the edges of the ceiling, and independently operated, adjustable dome lights over each seat and inside the back doors, where there is a clothes bar. The shades on the larger windows and the curtains around the doors need replacing.
There is a small television mounted in the ceiling at the very front between the driver and passenger seats. There is a VCR mounted behind the driver's seat but it does not currently work, might be a fuse or loose wire, or could probably be replaced with a DVD player. CD player/radio shorts out intermittently, it is not mounted securely so may just need to be bolted down better, currently hooked to two front speakers but there is wiring into the back cabin to add two more.
Title is clean, Georgia title since 2003, apparently the original owner had some kind of fight (or scam?) with his insurance company that led to him getting a salvage payoff and then buying the van back from them for a percentage. None of my business, but this led Georgia DMV to require a vehicle inspection before issuing a new title in 2003, and at time of inspection they issued a clear title. Apparently Experian is showing the current title as salvage but that is incorrect. Happy to show photo of current, clear title if needed.
Just to review, classic van, ready to drive, good mechanical condition with no leaks or outstanding repairs needed, clear title. Cosmetically decent but has dented front corner and needs paint job.
