Description for GMC Sierra 2500 1979
HI. this is my 1979 k25. please do not expect it to be perfect. expect it to be 35 years old. unrestored and in original condition. I took the clearest photos i could in the best light I could find and made it so you can see as many as possible. And here is my best effort to describe Canary25:History: It has been used as a truck up til about 5 years ago out west. I bought it from the 2rd owner out west and He had it for only a few months after buying it from the original owner. Body Condition:It is basically rust free and clean. but with some flaws from 35 years of use. Please see the photos of the body. There are too many scratches and dings and small cosmetic faults to list. It is very clean in all the right places. cab corners. rockers panels. bed and tailgate. underside. lines. frame. brackets body. bed do not have any bubble or corrosion rust. I tried my best to picture all of this. The rear bumper is not original. The primer spots are not because it had rust. You will see that when you see the truck in person to check it out and/or take it home. The original owner (or the 2nd owner did. and did not want to admit it) decided to put some primer paint over holes he tried to fill up from a bed rack on the top on the bed rails and a few other spots that should have all been left alone. The attempted surface paint and hole repair is now mostly removed. It was a pain in the butt to do but I buffed out most the primer off with rubbing compound. That is all I think needs to be done. I personally would rather have a dent than a filled in dent. Please see and note all places i have not finished removing it. Primer was sprayed over mostly a few small scratches. There was a deep dent in the tail gate. and rear bed near the cab - you can see was filled in where the rack stressed it. i have removed almost all the primer. I can show you how I removed it all when you pick it up if i do not finish it before this listing sells. There are plenty paint chips from rocks on the rockers and corners that show through to the metal to prove its original and never been painted. if you like I have no problem scratching through the paint anywhere to show you there is no other bondo or filler under it. Hopefully from the photos of the underside and the rest I wont need to do that. Engine Trans GM goodwrench crate 350. no receipts. It starts every time. runs good drives good. New dual exhaust and flowmasters. It sounds great. The plugs wires. cap rotor. are not new but they do not need to be replaced. Powersteering pump whines when its cold. TH400 trans shifts no problems. 4x4 working order. Chassis/Suspension: Good maintained condition. Goodyear tires are worn even in front. but will need to be replaced soon in the rear. they are near bald. The wagon wheels are American Racing. The whole underside is coated with epoxy clear to preserve the metal from any surface rusting in the michigan humidity. and possibly salty roads it will encounter when it leaves my garage. General Mechanical: general maintance has been kept up but nothing major or minor has been done lately. The windshield wipers. lights all work as they should. Interior:It has a pretty nice new pioneer head unit with usb port and pioneer speakers in the doors. They sound great. The A/C belt is removed. Heater core bypassed. I pan on overhauling the whole hvac system. parts are cheap. Doors lock and unlock with the key. Ignition column is good and tight. Windows need felt/seals and the tracks cleaned out. They are hard to go up and down. The interior is as you see. used and pretty sun beat but functional. I like it how it is. i dont have to worry about where i park it or if someone spills anything in it. Over all:It is reliable and dependable as a daily driver if you needed a daily driver. but I suggest NOT driving it in michigan winter and ruining it. I really dont want to sell it to anyone who is going to do that. And I have had no intention of restoring it. Some say "it needs restoration" but I do not. Its only original once. It tells the story of it's life the way it is. Restore it and it tells the story of someone with more money and time than me. I think it looks great how it is other than removing the rest of the primer. It is my truck so I think its a great truck and really thats my opinion. I encourage you to look at it and make your own. Payment/Picking it up. Please. Only Cash will be accepted. I will not accept a electronic payment beyond deposit with the buy it now price. Money orders. cashiers checks ect are just not something I can accept and let you drive off in my truck. Just plain old fashion Cash. I really prefer a local sale. If your coming from a long distance. that is great. I am confident in it of course understand there is no warranty and asking if it will make it to there from here is pointless really. I can make all the promises about what i believe and that it will make it anywhere you need to go. but it is a 35 year old machine. and something could fail that requires it to be fixed to continue any journey. That can happen with a newly restored truck. The main components: engine transmission and drive train are in good working order. anything else mechanical or electrical that goes out is very likely at the nearest auto parts store in stock. Questions/Offers:Give me a call with any questions and come see it. 248-890-2504. I would rather the owner appreciate my truck than give insult it in order to pay a lower price by picking my truck apart stating to me everything everything it "needs" to own it. All things i am well aware of and priced it accordingly. Its not a restored 10k truck. How about trying the route of the good. accepting the flaws. and not hide you would like to own it and give it a good home if we can make a deal. I think it really goes a lot farther than all the cable shows depict. It would be great if guy or gal who is going to own it could simply call and ask for the address where they can see it. show up. see it for what it is and make me a on the spot cash offer for it that I cannot refuse and take it home. That is how I bought it many moons ago. Or of course you make your offer here on Ebay or Buy it now on Ebay. I do not have a absolute bottom least amount price I must have for it. I will only be coming down maybe enough to consider your gas costs to drive here and get it . Thanks a lot for reading all this if you did.
