Description for GMC Other 1956
This 1956 GMC truck has lots of great potential. Our plans were to just sand it down to bare metal and Have the metal primed in Epoxy Primer. Ed toner paint steel rims and pinstripe old school style . Not now! My son decided he doesn't want to drive a truck when he has his licence. I have many pictures of the truck in its building ?? stages. See we have now clue what goes where. ( Still waiting on LMC to send us catalog. The information as I was told by the last owner of this truck goes like this. The last known owner to do any work on it did the following. emoved entire body and bed off of frame. Dismantled the chassis. sandblasted the frame. Replaced rear end with one from 69 Camaro 10 Bolt. He also replaced all the brakes . front and rear. He replaced the front end parts and King PIns. painted the frame and rear end He put NEW tires on. He then started doing the bodywork on cab. He did all of the welding on the 2 patches on the cab floor. ( No Stops Signs) He was using something they call a uni spotter and on old strong metal. you never do this I guess. He broke all of his front teeth. Decided to sell it to the next guy. But it was shiney metal then ( the cab) this next guy didn't do anything with it but traded it to the gentleman I bought it from. NOw He had great intentions BUT He took an engine that came with it . all apart thinking he was going to freshen the engine up. WRONG! (We sold that engine)Now here comes us! We have it towed home and we realized living in a condo and 1 car garage wasn't going to be good idea. Even though thought we could have this bolted together in a weekend. WRONG again. Thats when we looked for a Body shop in town to rent a spot from. Well it was to much for us to do by ourselves. The guys at the body shop told us to order the kit from LMC and they mounted everything. My son came in after school and wire wheeled bolts and and washed the tires up and cleaned the chrome the best he could. He learned something about working on cars and working in a body shop We have a Long Block 350 SBC that has been redone. The engine shop replaced bearings. oil pump. il Pan is now a new Aluminum and is a 1 piece seal. He ad us by a Comp Cams 268 H Kit. This came with everything. timing chain & gears. New springs. We had all new valves put in. intake & exhaust. Keepers retainers. guides and seals. It has a HEI distributor. SFI Flywheel ( Brand New) The engine runs on 87 Octane. This is a 1987 GM Block and Heads. This means its not a Mechanical fuel pump. but you can run a carburetor. You just need a electric fuel pump or bolt on a Tune port injection or throttle body. We were told to run Electric Fuel pump. If you look at the picture of a new Task Force Step side rear fender. with spare . Notice how much it costs new $2125. 00 without shipping. This truck doesn't need it or any fenders! I also have the 2 support bars that are always missing. because when someone takes the engine out. They never replace these. ALso these are $150 for just one. So looking at this truck its worth what I am asking but I am open to offers. I will sell the truck without the drive train if need be. I have an extra hood & grill to make this a Chevy too just check out my other auctions. Engine is rated at 290-310 Hp. If you have any questions or want more pictures I am happy to send them or answer your questions. Scott at 773-299-0081 I can assist help loading the truck for your shipperOh and 1 more thing If you are going to make a best offer. I don't do 1/2 prices of what I am asking for. You know what it costs for the sheet metal on these truck even for after market. So offer correctly
