Description for GMC Other 1955
We have 2 Buses here. Both are solid and have been stored in Dry eastern Oregon for years. I am selling these for a relative. Moving them/shipping to a major port or across the USA will be costly but they are near major freight highways and should not be to much hassle. SHIPPING IS NOT INCLUDED!ONE IS SERIAL NUMBER PD4501-534 THE OTHER PD4501-249 . One has a clear title and was last titled in 1991. The other has a clear title but my cousin has lost it.
I would think these being first generation Scenicruiser Buses that a museum, RV conversion company or a Tour Bus company would want to refurbish and use these once grand American Statements of the 50's
So the good news.
Bus #1 has excellent body sheet metal/glass and chrome. All doors are there and there is no rust!! The bodies are all Aluminum. The interior was taken out by the previous owner 35 years ago and was going to be made into a chicken coup!!! Thankfully no animals ever roosted here but the seats except the drivers seat are all gone. The floors are solid and all sky lights are intact.
Bus #2 is almost 100% complete. was at a later date transformed by Greyhound into a mail hauler as well as a person hauler. I was told aprox 100 of these were outfitted in this way by greyhound in the early 60's
The interior is complete as is the bathroom. Though while in storage it was vandalized. Almost all windows were broken as seen in pictured. As well as the rare three piece rear window was stolen as well at this time.
All body panels are there on bus. If not shown then missing. These are not for the faint of heart and will be a major job but certainly worth it.
I cant seem to see any of these out there in restored condition. Neither of these are running although the one with the great body did run in the last 12 years.
My cousin had big offers 20 years ago but passed them up thinking he had a gold mine but failing health and his daughters desire not to deal with these at a later date necessitates a sale.. We are starting big but are open to the best offer.
Call me with any serious offers or questions only please. 310-989-1877
