This is a 1971 GMC 2500 pickup I just got up in Oregon last week. I bought it up there for a buddy of mine to drive down here to Arizona to bring a bunch of stuff I bought up there. 4 old Honda motorcycles in the bed and a MGA he put on a car trailer behind. Along with 2 full old heavy Texaco gas pumps on that trailer. And after driving non stop 1600 miles thru the mountains. thru the rain and fog. across he Mohave Desert. he truck made it no problem at all. Other than losing 2 hubcaps in some pothole somewhere. thetruck purred like a kitten the whole time. Pulled the mountain passes no issues. Crossed the hot Desert no issue. This isa great old truck. And if I had half a brain. I would keep it. It was owned by one family for most of it's life up in Bend Oregon. And hauled Christmas trees most of the time . t is big block Invader 402 engine that runs smooth as can be. The truck had a little over 65 thousand original miles when I bought it. Now a bit over 67. 00. It is a Camper special with the 8 1/2 foot bed. This has some fuel tanks built into the bed sides that will need to be cleaned out if used again. The truck is as original as possible other than the aftermarket radio. And everything works. The truck had a major tuneup before heading South. Tires. brakes. tranny. earings. elts. oses. luids. etc were all checked and replaced if needed. New battery. The truck did not have a singe hiccup the whole trip down. I would drive it anywhere. Empty or loaded . There are dents. cratches. etc here and there thruout the truck. It is not a show truck. It has a lot of paint chipping on the hood. The factory wood slats in the bed are old original and rotten. There is a piece of plywood over the bed. The spare is mounted up front by a monster angle iron bracket set up. Good for demolition derby and occasional road rage. but not stock. And they welded part of it to the otherwise very very nice factory chrome front bumper. Power steering. isc brakes up front. No AC . Good glass. hot heater. good wipers. trailer towing setup with a frame mounted receiver hitch . Truck has not been played with over the years. Straight clean original rustfree trucks like this are getting harder to find these days. Great truck to drive and use as is and restore as you do. Always start with the best base you can and this is it. Grab it while you still can. Truck has a clean straight title in my name and is currently plated here in Arizona. . Pick up or inspection here in Prescott Arizona is encouraged. Storage till pickup is no problem. I travel around the country with my trailer and might be able to get it close to you. Unless you are where the white stuff flies. And overseas shipping is no problem. Full payment due within 7 days of auction end
