Description for GMC 1500 1960
One year make 1960 GMC short box half ton 305 v6 power glide automatic. The 305 v6 was only available in the GMC trucks. It's was designed to go 200,000 miles or more which was unheard of in 1960. This truck has the deluxe cab with big back window, heater and defrost, radio and chrome package. The original color is on the wheels. I had them stripped and used a factory color chip to get the color correct. Unfortunately Grandpa used a all his partial paints and mixed them together and paint it just before I bought it from him. Now it's a dark green. The truck has been in the family since 1983. I have had it since 2000 stored in a dry garage. It has only had non ethanol fuel run through and has always been very reliable. I drove it from California to Oregon in 2000. My Grandfather was meticulous about the mechanics. The bed is in great shape, a few minor dents in the fender wells but tailgate is great. The cab has the common rust for these trucks, please see photos and ask questions, it looks worse than it is. The front fenders in the lower half, lower drivers door and cab corner. The rocker is OK and solid. The floors in front of the seat have rust down where the rubber mat was. Under the seat is very clean and solid. The passenger side has some rust in the rocker on top but not underneath and the passenger door. Without blasting or stripping it I don't know more than what the photos show. I would be tempted to just find another door but is may not need that. All braces under cab are good and under bed. Their is another small section on the roof that I could put my pinky finger in. See photos or email me for more, I have plenty and crawled underneath this truck to show it is a good solid truck for the age. If ebay allows I will send every photo I have. I don't want anyone disappointed on this purchase. The side door windows have cracks but the front and rear are good. It has the optional back up lights as well. Headlight, taillight, park lenses all work and are not broken. Tires are all new including spare with the correct era white wall for the truck. It also has a 60s era tow hitch as well. I also have some minor parts that my Grandfather gave me with it that will go.The only piece missing that I know of is the drivers door molding but the cab corner piece is in the glove box. I am parting with it due to health and job loss. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING. ALSO CHECK WITH ANY AND ALL FINANCIAL ADVISORS AND CHECK WITH EVERY OTHER POSSIBLE FINANCIAL ISSUE BEFORE BIDDING PLEASE. ALSO MAKE SURE WIFE IS NOT PREGNANT AS WELL. ALSO YOU THE BIDDER ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR TRANSPORTATION TO YOUR LOCATION. I CAN ASSIST WITH IN REASON.
